I wonder if there is anyone in the tribe near or in The Provo Utah area?

Twice now there have been RV sales listings that are way to good to be true.  The most recent was 17ft Burro with bath rm, kitchen, a/c etc. all in excellent condition and working order, It was on CL for Dothan AL priced around $1,500.  The seller who emailed me said that TT is legally hers after divorce & contact is  [email protected]  I think the last time she was a recent widow.  She had a buyer in my area and the deal fell thru so shipping is paid and I have a 5 day "inspection period" after I take delivery.  The first RV  I contacted her on was the same type of deal, I emailed back re: fixed income, need to see before I buy etc. and was dropped like a hot potato.  In just in the last few days I was googling/fishing for Scamps, Casitas, lite weight TTs to Pull with Smaller pick up and VIOLA, WA-Lah? there it is!

Is there someone who will email this person re: Burro TT?  You can always say someone you know told you about it.  Which is true.  Oh Yeah  I was in touch 4hrs, after in posted and It was gone from CL within hrs of my inquiry.

If A scam This just pi$$es, me off to the point of making a few well placed calls to Provo and  let the chips fall where they will.  If not a scam then no problem for the seller.  If it is a scam then GOTCHA YOU A$$HOLE   :D

I always drop people like hot potatoes if in anyway they mention they don't have money

I suspect it was a scam. The price was so good, he/she probably was trolling for a few victims that was so eager/desperate/dumb that they would wire her the $1,500 immediately.

Looking around for Burro and Casitas, I ran aross this Craigslist offer from Colorado:
https://westslope.craigslist.org/rvs/5680391367.html

Go to the bottom of that page and note the key words at the bottom: "Burro scamp glamp vintage".

Also, here's a Scam Alert list, and one of them is a 17-ft Burro for $1500.

Remember what P.T. Barnum is said to have said: "There's a sucker born every minute, and two to take him".

Odd coincidence.

On the scammer warning list the 5th one down in the ads has Font issues and that is like the first and second ad that I inquired about.  I think it's done on purpose to lure folks into feeling safe because the " poor thing doesn't even know how to list a ad without it being all mucked up"  Yeah Right

I intend to learn how to  save the ads that I'm interested in with pics so I can prove what was listed.

I guess it's just live and learn.   Thanks for the info & have a good week-end    Jewellann

Odd coincidence.

i use google chrome so the first thing i do when i suspect something is right click on picture then search google for image and see what comes up,most scams are obvious though,a desired vehicle for next to nothing

IMO that is just sad.  Suits me just fine tho, It's your life.

I NEVER TELL ANYONE my true finances or how much $$$ I have. This includes family, friends, lovers, and total strangers.  When negotiating I've Learned that it's way easier to raise my offer than to lower one.  Unless the item has previously undisclosed flaws or is needing repairs.

On the other hand someone who brags about their $$$ or tells any/everyone in a bragging way how much they paid for something sends a red warning flag to me.

In Texican  " Money Talks Bull S**t Walks" another favorite of mine "If you can't run with the big dogs
stay offa my porch" :D   Have a good week-end       Jewellann

One of the scams I came across was someone claiming to be in the military sent over seas. Their vehicle for sale was in a shipping container in Gainsville Tx and the Govt. would ship it anywhere in the US that they were instructed to. I played them for a while just to use up some of their time.

If you can't see it and the title, run. Never take cash at first look. Tell them if you like it you will get the money out of a local Bank of America . Many have been robbed looking for a good deal. You also could tell them you want to meet where there are cameras to protect both of you. Once ID's are verified, you will go look at item.

Great advice, this wouldn't be obvious to some so it's great to remind people that you can't trust everyone.
