Hi - I'm almost ready to retire fully. I'm almost ready to start travelling full time and I'm almost ready to move across the country.

Due to elder care committments, I'm only 'Almost There' instead of on my way.

I'm almost ready to start converting the interior of the big white thing in my driveway... more planning to be done. I am now the proud owner of a 2002 GMC Savana 2500. It took me 6 months of searching to find what I wanted. It has a lowly 60,000 miles on it (100,000 km up here...sigh).

I've owned vans since 1975 when my brother sold me his 1961 Ford Econoline.

Glad to have found the forum. I'll have more questions than answers here for the next few months while I sort out all the system components that are going to be part of making this van into a full time dwelling.

Welcome to the Forum. There are a lot of knowledgeable and helpful people on here who will help you along the way.

THAT'S LOW miles in my opinion I am pushing 215k. WELCOME AND A GREAT CHOICE IN VANS.

Thanks all for the welcome - I lurked here for a while to see what sort of folks y'all were...nice people and one of the nicer forums on the web.

I fully intend to document the whole build, complete with pics. Right now, due to the weather for the next few months (I"m in northern Ontario...sigh), the only thing that will be going on is design work. Trying to cram my large wish list into a van is going to be challenging.

We're very glad your here!! Helping people along on this remarkable journey is such a joy for us! We get to relive the excitement of those early days with you and go along on your trips.

Sometimes we even share in the hardships, but we do it together and we all gain from each other.

Anything we can do to help, we're here. :)
Bob
