Hello everyone!! I have actually been a creeper on many sites pertaining to this, but have never put myself into a situation like this before, where I'm needing some advice.  Im a 34 year old guy with absolutely no family. Over the past few years I have been living with my girlfriend in Tulsa Okalahoma.  Things didn't work out as I had wished, but thats life.  I have always had this nomad spirit in me that is begging to let loose.  Needless to say, right now I am in a Walmart parking lot in Joplin, MO.  I do own my own ride.  It is a 2001 Chevrolet  Tahoe, with decent room , but nothing like a mini van or conversion van.  I guess what I struggle the most is that I am going to endure this lonieness like everyone else.  I don't want to be alone and would give anything to have fellow van dweller on the right direction. Luckily I have roughly little time to spare.

I guess the only thing going for me is that I separated almost $14000 from my accounts and now I receive a partial amount of that each and every month. ITs about a $1400, not much, considering I have a watch on right now that cost four times that.

I would really like to get together with people knowledgeable about this, so I am not in a walmart parking lot forever.

:)  Hello and welcome.  SOOOO now whatcha gonna do with the rest of your life?????
What do want to do? Somewhere I saw a big Blazer rigged to live out of.  It may have been here under "Conversions" at the top part of the page.

I hope  you have more room than my 1981 full size  Bronco had in it.  The first thing I took out of it was the backseat.  Then by packing very carefully I could sleep down the middle with my feet between the front bucket seats and I'm only 5ft 5in tall.  Of course there was the bicycle and Dammit my untrained attack cat doing a ride along.  Wasn't a dog in my little town that would come in my yard when he was out and about.

I hope you find whatever you're looking for.  It's not weird or anything is it? :s  :D

Welcome to the CRVL Forum   :)

This site has the goods to help you beat the loneliness by just posting here for now.  You'll meet people and hear of meet ups around the country and even may find a few folks who are areas together.   Not everyone is a Hermit by nature.   There is loads of topics and interest represented here.  It is easy enough now to get into HAM  Radio (Amateur Radio)  now and not that expensive.  It works out well west of the Mississippi River,
and may work where Cell service is scant and maybe cheaper too.

I have a couple of websites below you are welcome to visit.   The one on the bottom has a couple of chat rooms
listed at the top (under the picture) as General & Mobile Chat.   You can always invite people to chat via Private Message)  This may depend on their internet connection but you could try it.  If you have a webcam and SKYPE
installed you could video chat with others too.   Then learn of groups you may merge into.

Being disconnected from the world is difficult, but there are ways around it where you could find a new start.

You'll be glad you came here to make friends and learn more.

The first thing that struck me is that I know of many folks currently vandwelling in boondocks who live well on less than $1,400 per month. Maybe some stealth city dwellers can do that, too?

But if I read your post correctly, you have only 10 months of that amount -- and most all of us "older" folks would sure suggest you keep as much of that money as possible in savings for an emergency. So the first question is what you want to do to earn a living and where you want to do that. Missouri will be getting pretty cold in a few months, so if you remain there through the winter, I'm sure you'll need insulation and a good form of heat in your living quarters whatever they are.

And eDJ is right in saying that during lots of discussion threads folks find out there are others nearby and arrange through private messages to meet up for coffee or lunch or a few days of camping or more. Those full-timing out west often move with the weather so they have a fluctuating "tribe" that camp near enough together to visit when they want company. So we don't know if you can be that mobile, but I think you'll find you have the ability to physically meet up with like-minded folks most anywhere.

Give the folks here a little more info about what you want or plan to do, and you'll find yourself with lots of ideas and help.

Welcome to the CRVL forums, GetawayRJW! You're not far from the SoutWest where vandwellers and fulltimers of all sorts are beginningto converge. Specifically, the RTR (Rubber Tramp Rendezvous) is right around the corner.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the forum Getaway! There are some very nice free campgrounds in Missouri and Kansas if you don't have to stay in Joplin. Staying in Walmarts parking lots day after day can be depressing. You'll probably find that being out in nature is much better for your soul and you may meet some fellow nomads.

Missouri Conservation Areas - =2823]https://nature.mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/find/places?activity[]=2823
The map shows the first page only so you'll have to click through to see more locations.

Kansas Fishing Lakes -  http://ksoutdoors.com/Fishing/Where-to-Fish-in-Kansas
This site is a little harder to use because not all of the lakes having camping so you'll have to look at each listing.

You're fortunate to have a nice sum of money as backup. WriterMs's suggestion to save as much as possible for emergencies is a good one. There are seasonal jobs and other ways of making a living that will allow you to travel but it'll will take awhile for you to get adjusted to living on the road.

Good luck with your decisions! Hope you can make it to the RTR!

There are some of the tribe who get together in informal groups to travel/camp around others. They go for walks, sometimes share meals, and stargaze.
