A sadness infiltrates my being as we come upon the third anniversary of the untimely death of Miss Amy Jade Winehouse (14 September 1983 – 23 July 2011) who was and will always be the best jazz singer of the 21st century.

But John Lennon seemed to move beyond entertainer almost into the status of guru. He was hard to categorize.
