Hi everyone...I've been working steadily to get my van ready to go on the road next week. I still have a few things to do but I thought I'd post a few pics. When I first got the van it was a pretty standard work van...white interior with gray shelving. I cleaned it up and painted the shelving units with some bright colors so it wouldn't feel like a cave inside. I was going to keep the onboard generator but I've decided to sell it. Once it's sold I'll have some additional storage space. Anyway, here are the photos...

Thanks for looking!

I love it! You have a beautiful living space. Happy travels!

Thank you all so much for your replies. I've never done anything like this before so it's definitely been an experience. I've learned so much from the folks here and the photos that have been posted...this site is such a wonderful resource to have.

You're right, it doesn't seem like a cave inside, it's bright and fun.

I really like it, Ocean. If I ever get started on he inside of mine, I was thinking cedar siding and throw in just a few cabinets (not sure on the floor yet) but I'm shooting for a beach cabin theme, it's an at homey feel for this Florida beach boy - and your example really helps me visualize this.

I love it, Great Job!

Thank you Ziggy Moon...I love the beach as well. We used to spend our summer vacations at the beach every year when I was growing up. I plan on spending the rest of the summer in the NC/SC/TN mountain areas then travelling the East Coast this Fall and Winter so I can get my toes back in the sand. I've only been to Florida a couple of times in my life so I'd like to spend some time there too.

Go over to Brevard, NC.... In the mid 90's I had my full size International school bus parked on the mountain and living there for over a year (see my bus on my profile), it was a great experience... I really miss that ole bus, but the gas would kill me now.

I plan on installing a solar system soon. I thought about holding on to the generator but if I can get it sold I can put at least part of that money aside for emergencies. It will also free up the enclosure that houses the generator for additional supplies, etc. I don't think I would use it enough to really justify keeping it (it's a large commercial one)...better for it to go to someone who can get some use out of it.
Safe travels to you!

What a wonderful van, very cheerful, very good use of the existing cabinets. You must be looking forward to your departure day next week. Good for you, it's almost here.

Have a great time.

Nicole
