A casino, a place nearby to park, and a CB radio: a pile to be made

I used to do it in the early 2000s at the roadside park opposite the Sky City Casino between Grants and Laguna, NM.&nbsp; I was doing it out of an old Isuzu trooper, which made stealth difficult.&nbsp; Out of an RV it would be a lot easier.&nbsp; A person could pull into the Casino parking lot, walk inside and browse around, then return to the RV and listen to the CB.<br /><br />Starting around midnight Friday night until the casino shuts down, and again Saturday night, long-haul truckers come out to their trucks having lost their fuel money in the gambling joint.&nbsp; They get on the CB calling for other truckers wanting to sell anything they have of value.&nbsp; The range is infinite, and if you play smart you can pick up bargains for resale dirt cheap.&nbsp; <br /><br />Once you've bought that $1000 worth of tire chains for $100 you get on the CB the next day and start talking.&nbsp; But if it's non-trucker related EBay will probably rid you of it more quickly at a better price.<br /><br />

And you were providing a valuable public service too; providing&nbsp;financial&nbsp;liquidity to the transportation industry. &nbsp;Pretty much the same concept as Bain Capital did under our boy Mitt except under your business model no one lost their job. &nbsp;

Hi Mike: I'm at loss what you're talking about with Bain and Mitt.&nbsp; I'm new to the site here.&nbsp; All I can tell you is the CB/Casino buying and selling helped get me through part of the hardest financial times I've lived in seven decades.

I thought this was going to be about a different top regarding the casino, parking there, etc. I've thought about once I get my camper to play poker for money at the casino, while being able to park there since it's open 24/7. I was able to make a living at the game for 2 years back in 2004-06 before my gf talked me into getting a "normal" job. The casino where I live now has horrible poker players and the game is so soft..I just may give it a whirl.

Yep. Off the radar, unofficial.&nbsp; But similar in some ways.&nbsp; I wonder at the moment whether the tribe might have seen the potential between the last time I was there and now, and created something to serve the function.&nbsp; If not, they've missed a good bet.<br /><br />Won't know until I get back out there.
