I talked with the owner of Weeroll today about what I need and what he can do for me.  Incredibly nice guy.  They are a small operation but in my estimation, their product is far superior to anything else out there.

We decided that a 6 x 10 x 6'3" would be best for me. It will be insulated and finished, have 4 windows, 2 100v outlets and 1 12v outlet (in the end when I order I may ask for additional outlets), a 110v GFI exterior plug, 15amp motor base plug, pre-wired for solar, RV door, pneumatic lift back door, stabilizer jacks, port for window AC, wired for fan (I have to decide if I want to send him a motorized fan to install for me).  I'm probably missing some things.

Production time is about 120 days right now (Hurricane Irma set them back a bit) and I don't need it until April so I will place my order in December.  If it's ready before I can get out there (FL) or arrange to have it shipped, he will store it for free.

Although I would ideally like a 12ft trailer, he has needed to cut back on customization since he's such a small operation so he can't do it.  And all the other cargo trailer manufacturers I talked to were quoting me way more than him for an inferior product.  Since it's just me, I can make a 6 x 10 work.  And I'll have the Suburban for extra storage if I need it.

Pumped!

Is there anyway you can smooze him into a 6x12 vnose? It doesn't sound like much room, but 20% is a lot when talking these size spaces. If not, so be it. Are you getting excited? I almost feel excited and its not even me! Lol. Best wishes.

Dang that sounds cool!

I like the idea of the rear lift-up door....sun and rain, no problem! You could even mount solar panels back there and get some added 'roof' area when camped!

Looking forward to seeing the result....

Sounds great.  Good luck with that.  I'm a little jealous, but just a little.  I keep thinking I want a 7x16.... but am not sure I don't just need to get rid of stuff.

And keep getting rid of stuff.

Enjoy,

Pat

No, he's not doing 12ft now and that would definitely take me over my budget in any case.  I'd be more concerned if I didn't have the Suburban for overflow storage and if the trailer wasn't 6'3" high and had all the windows to keep it feeling larger.  For one person, I think this will work.

I am SO excited!! I can't even tell you.

LOL so true - this will definitely keep me focused on being a minimalist.  I'm just thrilled to know that in my price range I can get something of wonderful quality that will serve me for a very long time.  It will probably last longer than I will.  No worries about leaking roofs, black tanks that won't dump, refrigerators/hot water systems/heating systems/plumbing that breaks.  My Suburban has barn doors so that will be my shower when I can't find one.  I have a 10x10 screen room for more outdoor space.  I think I'll have a nice set up.

Hmmmm...interesting idea of putting solar on the lift up door.  But yeah...it will be a way of having shade and getting in out of the rain.  I just have to figure out my screen set up across the back.  There are companies that sell a mounted pull down screen made for toy haulers but I think they run around $300.  They are slick though.

Best of all, with the hard stuff done that my arm would never allow me to do, all I have to do is get it home and start putting the living components in it.  I might have to put a floor in...not sure about that.  But other than the V nose, there are no weird angles or cut outs.  The wheels are placed outside so no wheel wells to contend with.

To save money I have opted not to get the Airstream polished aluminum finish.  Instead I will go with a colored aluminum.  The polished aluminum is sexy as hell (or bad ass -- whichever you way you prefer) but I'm not sure about spending another $500 for it.

Quality workmanship like this, needs the gospel to be spread around the globe. I just can't believe a place exist like that, in the south east (where I live ). Very wise choice, "Grasshopper". I have a 6x12x7. Inferior. Correct.

Yay! How exciting! Can't wait to follow your progress once you get it and start making it your home.

I bought a mesh tarp big enough (10x8) that I was able to take it to an upholstery shop and have it cut into two pieces, and of course he stitched in two new seams with grommets, and then I had a 3x6 (trimmed) foot piece for my door and a 7x8 foot piece for a small awning.

You could look at that option, (one piece for the back) or buy a mesh tarp that's big enuff to 'wrap' around, and hang from, the lift door when its up, and form a big screen room that way. They can install snaps or hooks or grommets, whatever you need.

In nice weather this would almost double your floor space!

Dang....I want one now!

:p

Wow, those trailers are NICE!

An 8x10 is still more room than most vans and the Suburban is great for storage.

I'll be sure to share. No one is going to learn anything innovative from me. It could end up being the trailer IKEA built.

Good idea. I was thinking about getting two of the "as seen on TV" magnetic screens and join them with  a heavy duty zipper going up the middle. If I'm not in a buggy place, I can unzip it and fold back each flap for easy ingress/egress. I have a Coleman Back Home 12 x 10 screen room that I hope will align well when the trailer door is up. If not, there can be kind of a breeze way between the trailer and the screen room.

Here is a place for velcro installed screens...single center zipper, pouch on bottom (for weight, dowel rod, etc.) @ $117. Other zipper configurations available.

The Stoett roll down fancy screen is listed at $399...ouch!

It was the Stoett roll down that I was looking at. It's purdy but not for $400. I might do that $117 job. That's not bad and no hassle trying to do a make shift one. Thanks!

I really like his work. And just a real down to earth kind man. Can't pay 50% up front? No problem. He will work with you. Mine will be 6 x 10 x 6'3". I'm 5'4" so the almost foot of headspace will make it seem roomier.  I just really love the idea of being able to set up base camp and then explore. I also like the financial advantage of buying non-perishables and paper products in bulk so my Suburban will be for my stocked items. The Suburban also has a roof rack. I think I'll be nicely set up in time.
