I do need a compressor but I figured may as well buy a more powerful 1 ?

Do you need the gizmos / portability or not is the question.  Neither battery is made to discharge very much and are not deep cycle batteries.

What is the intended use?

: If my main battery dies , I'l have a way to get home
safely.
I've been known to leave lights / fans on that will kill the battery.
I have Roadside assistance but not always cell plan.

I just found my old compressor that plugs into 12 V.
I think the ones that connect straight to your battery are more powerful.
I dont need portability.  I'm strong enough to lift a 60 lb battery

You have not stated what is the main purpose of battery.  It is hard to make any recommendation without that important bit of information.

If you are using it as a house battery, neither of those batteries are close to ideal.  You are better off with a true deep cycle for the house battery.  You can start a vehicle with the house battery if the vehicle battery dies.  Using a starter battery or jumper pack as a house battery will result in poor performance and a short battery life.

The jumper pack is for you IMHO.  Jump starting your vehicle is what it was designed for.  If the compressor built into it won't blow up your tires, get another compressor to go along with it.

I have one of the compressors that Bob recommended and it plugs into a ciggy plug.  It will put 125 psi in my car dolly tires in just a few minutes.

The price of the jumper pack and a better compressor is about what you would have tied up in that other battery and would not have the compressor.

interesting, I wonder how they get 900 amps out of the jumper. I notice the little * next to the 900amps but I can't read the fine print below it. 900A is a huge number for a jumper. hghdesertranger

I would think very thin plates and a lot of them to give up that much amperage to start a vehicle.

Wagan 900 Amp Jump Starter - Portable Rechargeable Power Source!
900 Amp Jump starter with air compressor by Wagan Tech gives the operator a portable rechargeable power source wherever power is desired. The power from the jump starter comes from a powerful maintenance free 18AH (amp-hr) high grade sealed lead acid rechargeable battery with a status indicator light to measure the charge level of the battery. The LED status indicator lights are also used when charging the jump starter to communicate when the starter is fully charged and ready for use. The jump starter has 900 peak cranking amps to help provide a powerful jump start for most auto situations. It comes equipped with extra-long 29.5 inch booster cables. To provide efficient power to jump start the battery, the booster cables have a #6 gauge thickness. These cables are ideal to be used on many types of vehicles. Located on the left side of the jumper unit is a 12V DC power accessory socket for charging DC appliances that you would normally charge using the standard cigarette lighter socket found in a vehicle.

QUESTIONS
what are the cca? cold cranking amps on this? wagan 900
Hello, In response to your question about the cold cranking amp on the 900 Amp Battery Jumper, there are 220CCA.
Weight: 16.5 LBS

220 CCA vs 650 vs 700 . .
I have 700 now in my van .
Dont know how much I need
. I want to install a Battery cut off Switch too.

16.5 lb vs 45 lb regular battery ?
I didnt see a carry strap on the
InterState battery which makes it
Hard to pick up

A jumper pack is just that, it jump starts by adding on to what is left of your original battery.  It is not trying to start your vehicle by itself.  Connect the jump start pack to your depleted battery and let it set for a minute or 2 to let it put some of its' charge into your vehicle battery.  I do not know anything about this particular jump pack.  It does sound like it is very small according to its' weight.  The one time I borrowed one, it was very heavy.  My guess it was at least ~70-80 lbs.

The reviews on Amazon are mixed on this.

FLA batteries off gas when charging, not when sitting unused.  This should not be a factor unless you plan on charging it in your vehicle.
FLA batteries may leak if toppled.
Have to carry spare set of jumper cables.

Ultimately, the choice is going to be yours.  Since your main goal is to have a battery to jump start your vehicle, it only makes sense to me to get the tool made for the job.  I see you looking at car batteries that cost a lot more than he jump packs you are looking at.  You might start looking at jump packs in the same price range as the battery is.  When I looked on Amazon, the more expensive battery packs get better reviews.

YMMV
