2 weeks from living in a Van

Hello All,
Very nervous about this move into Van Life. Just sold my Condo and will be living in my SUV till I find a good Van.
Been watching many YT vids  about this (Bob Miller, Chrome and Robin from Creativity) 
Hopefully this forum  will keep me informed about what to expect on the road ahead.

Sounds like you have it under control. Take a deep breath and let that nervous tension go. There is very little that you can't adapt to or change if need be. Making decisions about a life style changes is for many people more stressful than the realized physical change. You are likely to find yourself sitting in your new abode saying "why was I worried about this???"

Just know that when you get your van there is no one set floor plan that works for everyone. With time you will customize to suit your needs. It' will be alright with the more you learn on this from turning wrenches to electrical. I'm about 48 hrs from living in my camper I know the feeling. Be out Saturday and I'm nervous myself.

I think my biggest apprehension in doing this would be having a small budget, and not knowing where to park legally.

Luckily, budget is not a problem for me, and online researching can find the right spots.

What are you immediate concerns ?

Suggestion: before the two weeks are up, practice.  Stay out in the SUV and make a list of things to fix.

I don't know what you're looking for but they sold a (Ford E-350 diesel ambulance which I have one & love it) with no rust, & 38,000 miles for $3800. If you find the right one with low milage from a fire dept who maintains things well you can get a deal. I wanted a pre computer & got the last year of the 7.3 IDI diesel. They cost $200k+ new & are built great. Here's a Bob Wells tour of one much like mine. Good Luck!

I'm looking for a Chevy Express 2500 or 3500 2004 and beyond. After I get that then I will need to find someone who can help install Insulation and build a bed.
I am located in the LA area. If anyone knows of a place in the LA area that can do this. I would love to get info on that.
@Gr8ful I saw that video but I'm not sure if that would be great for me. I'm looking too piece together this new home slowly. Just the essentials for the time being.

Check on craigslist. I often see vans for sale that have been partially built out with insulated walls and simple lumber framed beds. It really is a popular thing to do for people living in them or just using them for weekend camping. They will do a basic build and then their life style plans change, either finding a job and a house or moving on to something smaller or bigger or of a different brand or style. It might be easier to get that partial build out already in a van than to find a company to insulate and do a partial build.
