That's just a vent, it's lower than the panels. It's also stuck shut.

    FloorPlans-Layout drafts - requesting input

Im partial to the bed in back designs, there's something special about being able to open up those back doors to beautiful scenes and enjoy them right from bed.

    Painting the roof white

Ah, makes sense. The can said 24 hours but it took longer for sure.

It'll go under the bunk in the back, I've partitioned off a section for it already with plywood.

I got my panels on! Pretty exciting... I'll be working on getting the whole system put together in the next week. Any considerations for building a battery box for an agm?

    Painting the roof white

You know what? I checked out my roof again last night as I was installing solar panels (!!) and the elastomeric stuff has hardened quite a bit since last time and seems to be adhering really well, so I'm hopeful again!! I guess it softens in the rain and hardens up again in the sun.

Gypsychic the paint is really easy to peel with my fingers, if I just rub the edge a bit it rolls right off. I'm gonna see how long it lasts if I don't mess with it.

    Painting the roof white

Hey, it's been raining a bunch and the paint is fine so far, but I'm thinking I'll have to redo it eventually and prep better

Well its raining now so this will be a good test to see if what I did holds up.... I'm somewhat skeptical.

Hmm, compass rose did you sand your jeep before laying down the roof coat? I did, but maybe not enough it looks kinda like it might peel off. I followed the directions on the can to a t...

A Different Kind of Hiding Important Stuff

I guess there's a fine line between being compliant and being 100 % forthcoming, and no perfect formula for safety. I thought about doing a detailed blog post about my secret compartments complete with blueprints and photos of corresponding valuables, but decided against it ;)

    Hiding Places for Valuables?

Seraphim, I wonder if you could comment on how to keep cash safe from a seizure by LEO? As a traveling artist, would proof of a small business license be enough? Would I need receipts or a financial record? Im just starting out selling at craft markets and art fairs and also travel quite a bit...

A Different Kind of Hiding Important Stuff

I've had the opposite experience with LEO where defying them has created a power struggle and unconsented search vs being compliant and voluntarily leading a search (opening bags, drawers etc) has been fine. Cops can always find a Reasonable cause for a search, even if it's just saying you...

    Learning experience

I has something interesting happen a couple weeks ago. I parked my van at a buddy's house for a party and made no effort towards stealth as I felt quite safe next to his house. Had a nice fire going people coming in and out of the van all night then got majorly hassled by a creeper with bright...

    Hello.. Design phase newbie

Mine is a 10 by 6.5 ft box like the smallest size uhaul, about 6 ft of standing room. Perfect size for me (smallish shortish), very comfortable driving in the city too. There's a pass through and my bunk is up against the rear of the box. I've kept the floor plan really open which hasn't left a...

    chevy G30 diesel

Thanks simran, I have made a bit of progress in finding people qualified to work on my van in this area. The guy I took it to has been very honest and straight forward, and though he is a diesel specialist his shop is for newer diesels and his fancy diagnostic tecnology is useless on my old van...
