    Rolling north.

Avoid Telluride during the week of June 11-19. The Telluride Bluegrass Festival is occurring, the town will be open to only those who have tickets. The surrounding campgrounds and dispersed camping will be full, too, of festival goers.

    Going to Alaska in 2022???

Camped at Meziadin Lake on the way to Stewart - worse infestation of mosquitoes ever! I've been all over Canada and the US and never saw mosquitoes like that! Head nets were for sale at the campground store and yes, we bought them!

    Wow

Saw the same rig last year this time in Anna Maria Island just south of Tampa. I think they go up and down the gulf coast. And no, I can verify it is not photoshopped. I didn't get to talk to the owner but looked at it closely. A well made rig.

34 Years And I Still Couldn't Get To The Grand Canyon!

You remind me of the time we were at the North Rim in October. We were there for several days and enjoyed the sites. But one day it was so foggy that you could not tell there was a canyon! We ran into several people who were there that day only. I sure felt for them.

Which federal camping sites will be closed because of the government shutdown?

Wow this brings back memories.  I went to BBNP with a bunch of college pals back in 1974 and survived the swim across the Rio Grande on the way to Boquillos - that was the only way to get there back then.  Take a look at the attached photo and see if you recognize anything.  My wife and I...

    Cat veranda Mk. 1

We did something similar and took an idea we found in another forum.  We got one of those portable dog cages and hung it using window screen hanging clips.  I installed them above one of my truck camper windows so our cat can go in and out.

    Leash training cats......hopefully

Our cat, after a few attempts, has gotten used to his leash and tolerates it well. He does act different and tends to walk slowly and low to the ground when it is on him. Make sure you keep the leash taunt when walking him around as he can get out of it easily by backing out. I've tried cat...

    DIY physicals

Being a medical laboratory scientist I need to chime in. These devices that test your blood for glucose, cholesterol, etc are excellent tools if used properly. Just be sure that you follow manufacturer's directions. There is a check that needs to be run periodically called Quality Control...

Getting a cat on the road...

We've taken our Maine Coon with us since the beginning of last year. He's been to California, Oregon, Canada and Michigan in our truck camper. It took some adjusting for him but he tolerates it well. We put a litter box in the bathroom area. He does want to go outside at times so we use a...

    Dometic RC 4000

Agreed - I use the one pound bottles. While driving and/or good solar I keep it plugged in using the 12 volt connection. I also use the 110 volt connection when on shore power. So when I combine all the options, depending on what I'm doing and where I'm at, I generally power the unit for...
