Any metal detectorists here?

Well I ended up picking up an AT Pro. Only have 2 hours on it, but learning a lot and having fun so far. We are getting 12 inches of snow today, so no hunting for awhile...

    full timing with horses

My family and I have had horses and mules my whole life. Full-timing shouldn't be much harder than having other animals. If your in the front country, you have to pay for a corral (usually $10-15/head/night, check out horsemotel.com) If you want to save money and see ,IMO more exciting country...

Any fishermen or hunters doing any in there travels

I meet the family every year in southern Colorado for elk hunting. Its a nice way to get me to move southwards for the winter.

Fly fishing in wilderness areas in the summer on backpacking trips.

I did really good last year in the Beartooths just after ice out with small Mepps.

    Constructing a high top

Are you talking about a high top on a longer passenger van or shorter astro type van? I'm from MN and I wouldn't buy another vehicle from there with the prevalent rust issues known from the liberal salting of roads.

    For extreme boondocking!

    Definitely cool!

    MTBking and cycling

Owl - If you get a dual suspension MTB with lockout you are looking at big bucks. Yes, you lose a lot of energy in the rear shock when you go up hill. I have ridden both hardtails and dual shocks and I prefer hardtails. I'm pretty young and I've got no problem with the bouncing, but all the...

minimum in bank? $200k or $2M

I'm with Cyndi on this one. I'll never see that much money. Being young and living this lifestyle isn't particularly conducive to making that much. I spend about 500 a month without student loans (worthless piece of paper) and truck payment (almost finished!). I think I live quite well...

    Replacing my auxilary battery

Smarter usage (what time of day), and a better charge controller for the panels. It came with a cheap one that IMO doesn't work worth a damn. It was one of those Sunforce kits.

    Replacing my auxilary battery

    Casey - I totally agree with 68.
I totally misused a single Group 27 AGM battery and it was dead in 6 months. All I used it for was charging a cell phone, running 12V lights maybe 1.5 hours a day, charging a laptop 6 hours a week, running a 5W speaker 5 hours a day and a movie on a 22 inch...

Seems kinda low for a vehicle from a dealer. Might as well take it for a test drive if your nearby.

    Saguache's High Country Taco Build

Looking good Sag. Looks like that topper adds maybe 3 inches above the top of the cab. Can you verify that at all?
