"The Instant Pot and the Miracle Kitchen Devices of Yesteryear"

Instant Pot does have an air fryer lid, but (unless it's changed) only for the large ones, not for the 3 quart one that actually fits in my van.

Off topic posts split from "How do u live on $700/month, truly?"

You must be referring to Medicare Advantage plans. If you have regular Medicare, it is nationwide. If you have signed up for Social Security you'll be automatically enrolled in Medicare when you turn 65, but given the option to go for an Advantage plan instead. They have advantages and...

    any kayakers here?

I have an ORU Beach folding kayak. It is easy to set up and carry, and takes only a small space in my van's "garage" area. It's definitely a flat water 'yak but I'm definitely a flat water paddler so we get along very well.

    any kayakers here?

On the other hand, I hated my sit-on-top, much prefer the open style sit-in kind.

    Duolingo

Yes, I'm studying Spanish, along with the other women in my family. I started with the free app, until my daughter got the family plan for us all. I really enjoy it and I'm learning. I would learn faster of course if i had a live human to talk with, but since we live in 4 different states 😟.

    "It's time to cancel campfires"

I was camped in a national forest in the east. When the travel trailer a few sites away left, they're pulled all their firewood on their fire and left it burning. Friend and I babysat that thing all night.

    Anyone travel with a guitar?

I travel with a 6-string Sigma guitar and a banjo and a baritone ukelele. When I lived in a motorhome I also carried a Martin 12 string, but since my van is smaller, that's now at my daughter's house. I'm in the humid east, so I don't have desert dryness to contend with. So far the...

Adapting to updated progressive lenses (distance vision question)

Every time I get new glasses I have to greet them adjusted. Last time, when I had the lenses in the right position, the ear pieces we way up in the air and needed a LOT of adjustment. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk

    High output alternator

When I replaced the dead alternator in my motorhome, I went with the bigger one at the recommendation of my mechanic because of charging house batteries. Also in years of using them for motorhome house batteries and now as the battery for my van's solar, I have had no problems with the plain...

    On the road horror stories!

Or something. Sitting by campfire in Florida, we heard a lot of crashing around in the woods. Sounded like something big. Could have been a wild boar? Flashlight showed nothing. The racket continued and stayed in one place. My curiosity got the best of me and I went to look. LOL. Armadillo...

Older fulltimers... do you value intimacy less as you get older?

Sounds like either your GF is ambivalent about the lifestyle and you need to choose, or you're ambivalent about the GF in any case, or both. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk

    On the road horror stories!

20+ years in RV or van, female, solo, only issues I had were twice my unoccupied van was broken into in Baltimore and a Coleman lantern was swiped from my campsite - just outside Baltimore. That was in my first year and knock on wood I've had no issues of that nature since. Scariest thing out...

Hurricane Irma. Are you in its path?

Good time to take that van on a long trip north! I'm in SC and watching closely to see where it goes. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk

    EZ Pass Tracking

If we're talking about the same ezpass I have, then no, it's a 20 initial deposit. Not monthly. Supposedly they can take it away if you don't use it enough but they haven't pulled mine yet and I might use it once a year. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk

    CCL reciprocity between states

Download a copy of the FIREARM OWNERS PROTECTION ACT, federal law, which spells out the requirements for traveling through gun-hostile states. Follow the requirements and keep the printout. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk

    Newbie cargo van to camper

I know a guy who builds van furnishings out of that pink insulation board. Very light. He's got videos up but I can't find the link right now. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk

    CCL reciprocity between states

Since the laws are subject to change, I keep these apps on my phone and look up where I'm going. CCW, and Legal Heat. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk

    WOMEN ONLY: Howdy nomadic sisters!!

Solo woman, Vandweller, southeast. There are several women's vandwelling groups on FB besides the raunchy one. Problem with gatherings is it's like herding cats. If you have a location, pick a date, announce it in as many places as you can and see who shows up. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk
