what's the futur for gasoline van/RV/camper

Combustion engines aren't going away any time soon. Gas will just be replaced with a (more expensive) alternative. Porche is already making synthetic gas in Argentina for $40/gallon. 10x the cost of normal gas, but it will come down soon. It's also possible to retrofit gas engines to run on...

Class A or Class C - possible to park full time without paying for a camp site?

You aren't going to be able to stealth camp, and will need to find areas where you can park a class C overnight. Depends on your area how hard that will be. I have a van and bought a travel trailer, and long term plan on BLM land camping.

    Marijuana and BLM land

Federal law applies on federal lands, so you COULD be arrested, but it's unlikely unless you are transporting it across state lines or in a state where it is illegal.

1st Build: Mini van with IT workspace & Bed

I work in IT and lived in a full size van for a while, now bought a travel trailer and work out of it. A minivan is going to be very tight for this setup and I don't recommend it, you should really try to get a fullsize van because even that was super tight for me. -6 foot bed, you are going to...

    Debating which to do first.

Why would you need a roof rack for solar panels? Metal roofs are just fine using Z brackets to directly mount. the gap is needed for some level of panel cooling. Your standard Z bracket is going to be enough, so long you don't block airflow entirely.

    Internet on the Road

SolidRF brand cell boosters are going to be the cheapest, and most feature rich cell signal boosters that support both 4G and 5G, plan to spend about $400. The best data plan I have found it T-Mobile which sells 100Gb plans for $50/mo I believe. Starlink is the alternative. $600 for a dish and...

Opinions on the 2017 GMC Savana 2500

I have a '14 GMC Savana 2500 with the 4.8L and I love it. 10% weaker than the 5.3 but I can't say I miss the power unless it's a really steep hill. 6 speed transmission is great, newer engines are generally just going to be more reliable than older ones. I agree with Almost There, 1 ton would be...

    Breaking Down & Being Stranded

I have a e-bike so it can go a decent distance but I wouldn't try to go farther than 25 miles one way. My worry would be no cell service, I also have Starlink, so even if I don't have cell service I can contact a tow truck or whatever I need. The largest concern is enough money for when the tow...

    Van/truck vs RV Insurance

Roamly has worked great for me, they are one of the few insurance agencies that will insure a self built camper and they give a good rate. Why insure it as an RV? well insurance is insurance, it doesn't care what kind of car, policies is what prevents you doing this normally. Geico will drop...

    Register Van as RV?

Requirements to re-title as a RV are state specific, but generally these things will be required: -120v power available while not plugged in -running water with a sink (and small grey water tank) -fridge or cooler -ac or heater (buddy heater works) -a place to sit and eat (steering wheel desk...

    Solar wiring

Looks good! I would add a fuse on the solar panel positive side (they make inline ones). If you need to do any crimp connections buy real crimpers like the Gardner Bender GS-388 and DO NOT use the super cheap ones that come with the kit. For what size of wire, refer to this chart, use the column...
