If a cold emergency should arise, l keep insulated thermal long-johns and a snow suit in my van. Both fold/roll down to very manageable size.

It's been my experience that you have to use a blanket on top of the electric blanket to keep the heat trapped on you and not just dispersing into the air. Learned that from Bob and it works.

Excellent point ! I live in a cargo van 8 ft from back of drivers seat to back doors. Occasionally l'll tell myself l should get a rack on the back of the van or on the roof. Then l ask myself, why...so l can carry more "stuff" ? Then me, l, and myself all laugh.
