    Electric Fridge Selection

The ones that don't work well if they are not level are "absorption" fridges. The ones that run on propane are ALL absorption fridges. Some that run on 12/120 are also absorption fridges. I also find they also don't work well enough on very hot days. What you want is a fridge/freezer with a...

I got my electric fridge from Truckfridge.com. They have 12V and 12V/110V fridges, in various sizes.

How to build it right, the FIRST time!

I started with a cooler, a bunch of crates stacked two high, with boards on top to support the mattress and allow me into an individual crate, and a mattress on top of that. Then: Camp. Learn. Build. Repeat. I'm glad I did. My build has moved to aluminum angle and square tubing and it's coming...

    Hello!

I've heard the word "bulletproof" used in regard to them. They are amazing if their oil is changed regularly. This is my third. I'm using aluminum instead of wood to do the build out. I'm really looking forward to getting out and exploring with it. Maybe our paths will cross. Happy trails, Scott

    Hello!

Hi everyone! I retired from computer programming in October of 2021 at 54, after 40 years. I was in the Air Force for 5 years for some of those years. Now I'm working on converting a 2005 Chevy Astro Van. It should be done enough to get on the road the first of the year. Then I'll be on the...

Side fold futon or rear to front tri fold bed??

I started with a bed across the back and up high enough to stack two crates tall beneath it. My van is a Chevy Astro van and it is too narrow to stretch out on. After trying to sleep on that a few times, I changed my bed to up the driver's side. My mattress is 25 in wide and 72 in long, trifold...

Chinese diesel heaters don't work above 5000 feet elevation. Buyer beware!

I will be getting a big name brand high altitude model. Not cheap but will work up to 8500 feet or more.

Chinese diesel heaters don't work above 5000 feet elevation. Buyer beware!

I bought a cheap Chinese diesel heater. As you go up elevation, you have to reduce the fuel going to the heater. At about 5000 feet you're down to nothing. They are not designed to work above 5000 feet. You have to buy a higher priced brand name model to get up high with one of these...
