Has anyone ever put a treadmill inside a bus

You'll probably end up spending more time outside living in a vehicle (of any kind) than living in a house or apartment. I won't question whether or not you need a treadmill, but you might reconsider it for many reasons if only for the electricity involved.

    24/7 Chat About Anything

I don't mean to be a downer or anything, or political ... but there are a lot of news reports about food shortages coming up ... lots of news about over 100 food distribution and manufacturing plant fires (whatever that mean, you interpret) ... so at least make certain you have dried beans and...

Off topic posts split from "How do u live on $700/month, truly?"

My accountant told me to never file my taxes early - that they have a certain number of audits they can handle and they start selecting those as soon as the returns come in. He said if you have a good to delay filing, then do it because then they'll have their audits lined up before you even...

A de-lurk, and hoping to verify a couple of assumptions

Depends on where you work and whether or not they have night security. You may need permission. We had a merchandising manager do this who came from out of town - his wife wasn't ready to leave her job or sell the house yet, so he lived in the parking lot in his RV during the week.

A Video Guy Stated Banks Won't Let Him Have A Virtual Address

Then, I just found this ... they have "virtual" lease options for FL, CA, NV, DE to provide a real lease agreement for a fee. It would be worth checking it out to see if it would work for a personal bank account - which in many states a business location will suffice...

A Video Guy Stated Banks Won't Let Him Have A Virtual Address

Well, perhaps I lucked out or something. I have a friend with an DL from Hawaii who recently got a tag for his car in Tennessee - they didn't require anything much in the way of identification to do it and asked him if he wanted the tag to go to Hawaii or Tennessee. In that state, you can use...

Also, complaint to customer service and tell them you're taking time off to travel and see the US - just complain.

A Video Guy Stated Banks Won't Let Him Have A Virtual Address

If you have a mailing address I can't see why you'd need to change your physical address. Is that legal, probably not - but it's sort of in the category of "don't ask, don't tell" if that's what you're doing. I've never heard of anyone, any company, anyone at all checking on your physical...

A Video Guy Stated Banks Won't Let Him Have A Virtual Address

This isn't that complicated. Do you have a friend or relative that would let you use their address as a physical address - assuring them that you would never get any mail there or anything? If so, use that physical address and use your post office box or mail service as your mailing address. No...

Squatters taken over my new home, need to backyard vanlife?

You don't have to let the house go - taking up the driveway and parking in front only impedes their ability for easy access (groceries or whatever). You don't need trash to attract rats ... bird seed around the foundation, peanut butter - and they love french fries ... hardly noticeable! lol

Squatters taken over my new home, need to backyard vanlife?

I wonder ... do these people work? Do they ever leave the house? I wonder if you had movers come in quickly and move their possessions to a vacant lot or something ... how could they ever prove that they lived there? You could then squat on their property and have the same rights that they are...

Squatters taken over my new home, need to backyard vanlife?

Excellent! It could be difficult to find a population to relocate, but the right foods will attract them. The pest control may be cheaper than the legal fees. I've posted about this a few times now and probably come across like a real mean person, but I believe when one is wrongfully put out of...

Squatters taken over my new home, need to backyard vanlife?

Yes, block the driveway and park your van in front of the house. It is also a good idea, if you have not so already to speak with all of the neighbors to let them know what is going on and that you are simply trying to reclaim your property. It will be helpful if the neighbors ignore the...

Squatters taken over my new home, need to backyard vanlife?

I'm certain you're doing everything legally that you can .. but I did find this. https://www.buildium.com/blog/squatters-rights-in-nyc/#:~:text=In%20NYC%2C%20the%20process%20begins,the%20eviction%20process%20in%20motion. Squatters evidently don't have a lease ... so perhaps the inside plumbing...

Vehicle For Sale Selling my van

If it were me? I go hunting for a new van immediately (depending on how much you've built it out, of course) ... and see if you can find a good deal. Then, sell the van and pocket the remaining.

Are vans even close to being a viable option at campgrounds / RV parks? (esp. on the east coast)

There are businesses that run off of a persons SS# - For myself, I'd probably do something like "Graphic Arts Services" or "Professional Murals" or "Doggie Daycare" or something freelance that isn't photography, plumbing or construction ... something that doesn't imply "expensive tools inside"...

Are vans even close to being a viable option at campgrounds / RV parks? (esp. on the east coast)

If you haven't already, check out Vancity Vanlife on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/VANCITYVANLIFE He's been stealth camping all over Canada for the past few years and has some great tips and what "accoutrements" on the van are red flags for law enforcement. If I were ever to do that (in a...

What do you do with your dog when you have to go shopping for food?

Dogs used to be able to run free and that was a nuisance - but, now we have leashes, we scoop at the park, we spends tons of money at the vet and on and one. You can legally register you dog as a emotional support service animal. I had a friend who did this for travel reasons - it was less...

    A safe in our Van

I agree with you for two reasons: 1) I used to need cash for focus groups, so I know the importance of being careful when leaving the bank, and 2) The vehicle could get stolen. We can't discuss politics here, so please start doing some research regrading changes that the central bankers would...
