    Sprinter van build out

Thank you. Between the bathroom and the bed, I'm building a closet. Between the bathroom and the drivers seat, I'm waiting to see what I will need as I continue the build. For now. I'm working in that space. I like to have a little open area when I work. Basically, I'm sitting at a makeshift...

    Sprinter van build out

Thank you, it's slow going with this van. I'm 6 months in and just now started the shower/toilet. So far I've just been using it to sleep in during my Army weekends. It beats sleeping on a cot in an office.

    Sprinter van build out

For the electrical, I went with 2 200 watt Rich Solar panels, a Rich Solar 40 amp charge controller, 2 ampere time 200 amp hour lithium batteries, and a 1200 watt inverter. I only need the inverter for running a laptop and a few other small AC devices. Everything else is DC versions. I have a DC...

    Sprinter van build out

Hello everyone, I recently started a sprinter van build. This looks like a good place to give and get feedback. I started with this 2011 170in WB van. It had about 252k miles on it but it looked solid. It started out as a golf proshop on wheels. Lots of work was done inside for this that is...

Please ignore the construction clutter. I've added another 200 amp hour lithium battery and dressed up the wiring since these pics were taken. Used 2 400 watt Rich Solar panels. Felt easier to work with 2 panels.

Going full-time: just started my buildout!

If you have Will Prouse's guide, just read and follow it. Most electrical work hesitation is due to lack of experience. Once you've crimped and out together a few wire runs, it will be smooth sailing. If you can swing it, go bigger with the wire than what's called for. Especially on longer runs.

Wow. Economy AGMs just went way up.

The lifep04 batteries that I bought earlier this year went up $40 apiece since then.

Tie rod fix on 2001 workhorse cost?

I like how simple a lot of things actually can be to fix. There's always an intimidation factor for lack of experience or mechanical ability. It's amazing what you can do with some decent tools and a Haynes/Chiltons manual.

Remote customer service work while vandwelling

I hear that PDA net and Foxfire apps are your friends. I've added these apps but have not yet tried them out. They are supposed to allow you to use your unlimited data plan with full speed tethering. Like, if your data plan slows down tethered device speed after a certain amount of data used...

Remote customer service work while vandwelling

I'm not in customer service exactly but I do work remotely. For me, it works in the van as it does in my home office. Dedicated workspace is key. Good cellular internet service helps too. I have a DC powered LED TV/DVD combo that is set up as an external monitor.

I just get tired of chewing when eating a salad big enough to be filling.
