    Finally got the floor in!!

Thank you, I appreciate that! Yes, I do need to sand down those edges. I may replace the screws at some point too. The new floor has already started to scratch. It's supposed to be super durable, non-scratch material. First time out camping xmas eve and the garage has already scratched up...

    Finally got the floor in!!

Just a little update... finished the stair tiles, stain, and nosing! - Sealed the tiles with Thompson's water seal, so temp fluctuation won't be an issue (hopefully) - Liquid nailed them to the wood panel. Caulked with black sikaflex - Cut the nosing with tin snips. Super hard. Probably...

    Finally got the floor in!!

Yes, looking forward to your help, Doug, thank you. We're taking a surprise trip to Oregon for Thanksgiving, otherwise we'd have come this week... Looking like early, mid-December? I'll text you and Paulette to make sure you'll be around.

    Partial Subfloor to Anchor Galley?

Really wouldn't be comfortable putting plywood over carpet. Can you remove that part of the carpet and either bolt or glue the ply to the metal floor? Bullfrog's idea is probably best. Using some plusnuts on the metal wall and bracketing it in.

    Finally got the floor in!!

    New van life camping...

"Just GO!" Would be my answer. Head south and west to catch the warm temps. Quartzite AZ is definitely where you'd find a huge tribe of people doing the same thing and a good spot to rest and figure it out. So excited for you!! I left NY and traveled across the country to CA (still here). Best...

    Naming of vans

I used to have personalized plates on my car that read, "LIBR8" (Liberate) because I value freedom above all else. So when I got the van in 2020, I called it "The Liberator" (because it enables freedom, obviously.) Someone pointed out that sounds more like something you'd name a vibrator. lol...

    Hanging It Up....Maybe...Kinda' Sorta'

I think it depends on what it looks like. When I bought my van, I would have loved it if the floors, walls, and ceiling were done so that I could do the fun part. But I'd want to know that the materials used were quality and the build was done right. I paid to have xtra seats removed and a floor...

Connecting MaxAir Fan to Bluetti & Diagnosing Electrical Set-Up

Omg, that is so kind of you, thank you! I'm OLD too. Lol. [55] I just finished installing the subfloor and bed, aiming to lay the vinyl flooring down this weekend. I'm all set for camping [futon mattress, cooler, potty, bedding, mr buddy heater, camp stove, etc.] Even just to have you guys to...

Connecting MaxAir Fan to Bluetti & Diagnosing Electrical Set-Up

These were really helpful, thanks! I didn't even know that *was* a distribution box. [I'll continue to educate myself with more youtube vids.] I do plan on putting solar panels up. Just bought the hardware to create roof mounts. I figure a cheap campsite with electric hookups will work, when...

Anyone Do Electrical in/near San Diego?

My FT van came with an interior electrical set up already installed that I'd like removed. You can see pics at this previous thread: https://vanlivingforum.com/threads/connecting-maxair-fan-to-bluetti-diagnosing-electrical-set-up.49175/ I believe it's wired into the alternator, and into 2 LGM...

Connecting MaxAir Fan to Bluetti & Diagnosing Electrical Set-Up

I appreciate all the responses, thank you! Sounds like I should simply unhook from the battery and remove everything. If it's connected to the alternator, I wouldn't know how to do that, but perhaps I can find a place that does car stereos and alarms, and pay them to remove the system, then...

Connecting MaxAir Fan to Bluetti & Diagnosing Electrical Set-Up

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yeah, I'll definitely post the build as it comes along. ( : Just finally got the subfloor and bed in. I appreciate the battery suggestion. I agree, they should come inside. I'd also like to replace them with LiPo4. I'm inclined to believe the workers stole the...

Connecting MaxAir Fan to Bluetti & Diagnosing Electrical Set-Up

Hello folks, 1. I want to put a MaxAir fan in my Ford Transit but I'm not able to afford a whole electrical/solar system. [I'm leaving the walls accessible for that, later.] Does anyone know if these fans can be wired to plug into a power station like Bluetti? 2. I'd also like to find someone...

    When it's time to stop.

There's a small town in upstate NY selling homes for around $50k. Jamestown, NY [where Lucille Ball was from.] I grew up in the vicinity but have been in CA for 35 years. Still considering it, just to have something for old age. I stalk zillow trying to find the cheapest, nicest ones. Though the...
