    Been thinkin (Again)

Ken I have no idea what his intentions were in calling you and saying that but I'm pretty sure you can (and should) keep living the life that you choose to for now without the worry. What he stated isn't easy to do if he even wanted to. Life's way to short and you deserve to live as you choose...

    Service TPMS Light On....Promaster

Just make sure that the tire rotations are all done in the same pattern to ensure they get the same wear.

if you need this much watts, do this

Good catch! Typing and on a conf call multi -tasking I have (2) 200AH batteries wired in Parallel for 400 total AH, my bad... BTW- for reference, my water heater uses 1.4 KW when running which is my largest single draw ;)

if you need this much watts, do this

Please check all the draws you have first. Keep in mind, everything won't be on at the same time. Find your largest draw, (maybe Microwave which I have, 700W when running) and build to that at a minimum. To assist you in understanding it all, view websites like this one >...

It's really our stupid lawmakers fault, they make the laws....

    Wire sizes vs current capacity {split from Shops that install DC-DC charger}

I used 2 gauge for an 8 ft run to a 40A dc to dc charger. From everywhere I checked that would be a correct size. I felt safe going with that size and it has worked great without getting hot at all.

    24/7 Chat About Anything

Maki- I stayed off FS222 last week on it was open and no problem finding a space but they was logging traffic on the road. Dust might be an issue but it was fine for the most part.Safe travels

    Social security insolvency 2033

Having anything left in the account when you die go back to "the government" pisses me off. Everything else I have goes to my kids. Nothing wrong with what you did but it sounds like triple dipping with pensions from the army, USPS, and SS. Play by their rules when you can. If you are "retired"...

Buena Vista/Chafee County Colorado Dispersed Camping

I stayed there last night off wing mountain rd, just north of Snowbowl. It was the best I've seen it but there is still a couple of folks leaving out there. The road is now being used for logging so maybe that's why they moved/were moved out. Tried to stay near Sedona and that place is a mess...

Buena Vista/Chafee County Colorado Dispersed Camping

I've been traveling for 2 weeks now staying in St. George & Hurricane Utah, Moab, Fruita, Cortez and now in Flagstaff. Headed to Sedona & Prescott AZ by the weekend. The trip is mainly MTB riding and I like to stay in BLM/dispersed areas, for free if possible but that not a show stopper. I...

Advice for Getting Inaccurate CA DMV Info Removed?

A couple years back I purchased a 2015 Chevy Express van to convert. State Farm called me back and stated in was a commercial vehicle. I had to explain that chassis like this can be vans, extended vans, motorhomes, box trucks, etc. all using the same chassis. I also took pictures to prove it was...

    Social security

Keep in mind that close to 50% of the people do not pay taxes (for whatever reasons) and that leaves a larger burden on the other 50%. If I had a choice way back when, I would choose private investments over SS for the larger return overall & when I pass, whatever is leftover goes to my estate...

    Ecoflow portable solar panel

Try using peppermint essence oil. They hate the smell. I put a couple drops on a cotton ball or dryer sheet at all 4 tires and it has stopped the rodents so far. Also I place small chunks of Irish spring soap in my engine compartment and areas underneath the van.

Wages and Unions - moved from: Things to do to keep feeling "normal" while living out of your van?

I think he meant for those that take advantage of the services provided, not those that truly need them. Too many people receiving "free stuff" and never working for it if possible and FREE isn't free. It's taken from someone that earned it. We can all find faults if you choose too but most...

    Fold down bed

I'm not sure how your van is setup now. A couple years back, I built out a Chevy Express and I had made a pull out extension making a full sized bed. During the day, it would slide back and make much more room inside the van. It was slates, ones that were on one side that were stationary, and...

    Sleeping with the door open

In today's world, an open door at night is a hard pass NO, but that's just me. I have two maxx air fans running if needed, pulling in and pushing out. Works great!

    New drain issue.

I can't see one 100AH battery keeping up with the load. the laptop charger draws more than you think. Might consider adding another battery for more storage. The charging hours are already getting shorter for the year and it will only get worst. You probably do this already but turn everything...

    Trailer towing gone sadly wrong

Just because the tow vehicle can move a trailer down the road doesn't mean it's the best option or should be "towing" it. Vehicle stress, lack of weight vs tow weight, braking power vs load all come into play. Glad to hear they are OK.

    Social security

SS is the worst "investment" anyone could make and if not forced to "invest ", you would be fool less to do so since it loses over 4% over time. Your estate loses every penny left when you die also. All these programs and pension plans are basically pyramid schemes because in order for you to...

    Ins went up 35%

Nation wide, insurance claim average cost (severity) went from $3450 2 years ago to over $5000 per claim today and it ain't going down any time soon. Cheap insurance isn't always cheap if you truly compare coverage and how the repairs are being handled & by who. If you are driving an older...
