You can find what are called "rim" pieces of carpet at floor companies, and I prefer using indoor/outdoor carpeting which is sold at stores like Lowe's and Home Depot for cheap. The rim pieces are those remnants left that are not big enough to sell as a whole rug. They go for cheap.
