    Suggestions for first van?

Yeah I've been watching the trends of late and have no illiusions heh. A mini van would be just fine, heck a pick up with a shell on back would do. So long as I've a place to sleep I'm good, I can always upgrade later down the road. Thus far the search has yeilded no fruit but I've just begun. ...

    Suggestions for first van?

Thank you all very much! My circumstances have altered my plans so at this point it's nearly any port in the storm. I may be homeless in a month or two tops, no family that I can stay with, might get lucky and be able to crash on a friends couch for first month. Past that I need to have...

    Suggestions for first van?

Most likely boondocking I think. The intent is to try and do the BLM for two weeks at a stretch but still gathering information. I'm not comfortable with in city camping to be honest.

    Suggestions for first van?

Hello again all, back with yet another question. Getting ready to jump into the pool as it were and wondering if there are vans/vehicles that I should avoid. I figure with the experience of so many nomads I might get a good idea for a starter.     Looking more toward a older vehicle ($ crunch)...

    On disability and curious.

Wow and thanks for the input! I live rather frugal life due to finances and a strong step mom who taught me a great many skills. Space isn't an issue, mine at the moment is 11X12 containing my stuff as well as my cats belongings. Though as all pet owners/parents they see us as being their...

    On disability and curious.

All I desire is to be free as possible in our current times and not become a burden to my son's. I want to see what few parts of the country I've yet to see and maybe, just maybe find a bit of happiness and peace before the end. A lot to ask of the universe I know but as I'm still kicking there...

    On disability and curious.

Thanks for all the replies thus far. 20K up front isn't going to happen, not inside of 15 years. My living expenses vs income is just too lop sided for that to be realistic. I stopped using Facebook as it was becoming far too toxic for my health so I'll keep looking around and see what I...

    On disability and curious.

My apologies if I came across as looking for a hand out. I honestly have nothing at this moment, merely attempting to get a idea if this is a option or not with my current monthly income. All my savings between now and next summer is for both my son's graduation. After that I can sock away money...

    On disability and curious.

Been on disability for a decade now and my son's are soon out of school, flying free. This leaves me with the options of getting lucky with a studio apartment, being homeless or getting lucky enough to get a van. Currently my bills leave me a hundred a month for saving and medicine so saving is...
