How to cook frozen chicken pot pie on stovetop?

We just use a skillet w a lid, heavy duty aluminum foil, butter or pan spray and a 16 oz marie calender pie. Let the pie thaw out a bit (saves fuel). Grease up a largish sheet of foil. Unpan and put the pie in the foil, fold the foil over it. Apply pressure to flatten the pie about half way...

    When Vans Get Stolen

A new 'neighbor' first week, van stollen while at the laundromat. It got 2 blocks before the fuel cut off. He punched the guy just as he got out of the van cussing about it.

Keeping a commercial or regular title on a conversion?

Its a "15 foot" (the rental description) ex Uhaul with three big rv windows. Stealth went out of the picture the first month. But there are a lot of box trucks now with windows and doors peoole run their business out of. Pet groomers, handy men, construction. Being mobile in California is...

Keeping a commercial or regular title on a conversion?

My husband towed quite a few RVs that looked fantastic but were what he calls toothpicks and playing cards. The ones going to auction looked okay, but the ones that caught fire or the propane blew up, or had been in accidents, convinced him we wanted some thing a little more solid. We have junk...

Keeping a commercial or regular title on a conversion?

15,000 on the sticker, but we havent weighed it since the final clump of lumber just went in yesterday, and we have about 10 small boxes of books and mementos in storage we need to fit in. My mechanic said this morning California goes by age, length And weight now for RVs. But they count ANY...

Keeping a commercial or regular title on a conversion?

Thank you, everyone. I think it would have to be based on what State the final registration is in, then? California business licenses are insane. Last time i checked over 10 years ago, you had to pay 800$ for a business that makes 0 to 1k a year. They expect that tax money whether You profit...

Keeping a commercial or regular title on a conversion?

Hubby and I are just about done w our not too fancy box to rv conversion and now we're at that crucial point. Do we change it? We have obvious rv windows. We plan to paint it in a 'to hell w stealth' style. But if we switch from commercial to RV, we have to give up our cheap insurance, as well...

Married Couple Traveling Together in Separate Vans

Hubby and i joke about getting a little Fiat or Smart car to tow as a 'dog house'. I like the idea of a smaller more fuel efficient spare wheels, but a whole extra van is more likely between couples who meet on the road, no?

    Jury Duty

A few years ago i went for jury duty. Cousin is a 30 year sheriff, hubby drove tow for police, i worked at a college. All reasons to be dismissed. Nope. The trial took three weeks and was a blatent gang murder of a diesel truck driver, shot in the back 3 times in my cousin's district. I was so...

    Mattress ventilation?

No, it was just a hella humid year. I read somewhere humans exhale a gallon of water every night, too. That on top of sweating. A couple of plastic mattress covers or the tarp trick has worked best for us. The tarps are tougher than the fancy mattress covers.

    Mattress ventilation?

When we started out, we grabbed some foam rubber for quick mattresses on a bunk bed. Plenty of circulation. After a year they were moldy and disgusting. We got another set and this time bought cheap plastic tarps and wrapped them w duct tape. Warm in winter, cool in summer. Two years later we...

    Mattress ventilation?

Nope, nope, nope. We threw some card board under a rug for insulation on the metal floor of our pickup. We're in droughty SoCal. The card board soaked up humidity and we literally had mushrooms growing under the rug in the corners. Cardboard will soak up humidity like news paper. Its a good way...

what is your first step on a vehicle build

Will your vehicle go where you want to go? You don't want to be that guy slowly creeping sideways up shallow driveways on those mere inch thick tires out in the mountains and BLM land. Road proof your chosen vehicle. Extra leaf springs, new shocks, heavy duty tires. I've seen a lot of people in...

    Showering at Campgrounds

My hubby and I have the CA State park pass, we get 50% off all state parks, day or overnight. Handicapped. I believe the national pass is the same set up. The only problem we have is the handicapped spots are always kindly right next to the bathrooms. Convienient, yes. But noisy all night...
