what % of the population would have to become van dwellers before it became illegal?

You see my fear is not so much on the federal level as most remote workers who live in vans still pay income tax(taken right out of their check) so the feds don't care, but local governments who get their money through property taxes will begin to view vandwellers as scavengers as we use the...

what % of the population would have to become van dwellers before it became illegal?

Problem with that is it would create a cast system among nomads as it would create a clear difference in the eyes of the general public between "People who have means, retirement, S.S., pension, or a remote work income" and every other vandweller many of whom act responsibly but will get lumped...

what % of the population would have to become van dwellers before it became illegal?

I'm still not a fulltime van dweller but I've been pimping out my camper trailer in case my property taxes get to the point I could not afford my house anymore so I could sell my house before I lost it to tax foreclosure. Anyway I was reading a poll where only 7% said they would NEVER live in a...

any of you love fulltime nomad life but only because of technology?

They want the comforts of S&B life without the obligation that comes with it modern tech is making that possible. they can see the country on the open road and watch netflix when they are caught in bad weather.

any of you love fulltime nomad life but only because of technology?

Actually Nomads were actually MORE common prior to to the automobile in the 1800's there were many people living in their wagons going from town to town trading goods or doing odd jobs. also you had(and still have) Gypsies and Irish travelers who had a completely mobile lives. [/URL]  plus...

any of you love fulltime nomad life but only because of technology?

Oh they're on the forum, they may not post as much but they are here.  and I imagine many who have every piece of camping tech that can fit in their van would still live the life if all they had was a mattress and ice chest, the gadgets just make things easier.   And nobody is saying bare bones...

will the explosion of full time Vandwellers that the life will be more costly.

I can see that, like only allowing overnight parking in industrial area's as every city in America has burnt out old factories and warehouses with big parking lots, in the rust belt there are whole neighborhoods abandoned for decades as the greedy corporations have moved most of our...

Why do solo female Nomads have an easier time attracting non-nomads than solo males?

That why I prefer dating within 10 years either direction  :D    I have an acquaintance who it 69 who has a 4 year old daughter from a former bootie call, he got custody because the mother(36) has a drug problem (basically he was a sugar daddee) He rolled the dice and got snake eyes lol. he will...

Why do solo female Nomads have an easier time attracting non-nomads than solo males?

I understand that not all seek relationships or prioritize them(I do because nothing else gives me the same rush) And I want to go full time on the road and I'm really enjoying my test run so far, but yes my odd's of finding a "life long" road partner will factor in my choice of going full...

How does dating work in the nomad World?

That may be a good thing, I think the reason relationships in the S&B world are so short lived is because it's so easy to just leave, when facing issues our grandparents would have just worked through people these days will just give up thinking "something better is a right swipe away".   so...

Why do solo female Nomads have an easier time attracting non-nomads than solo males?

I don't think it's female instinct to be S&B, humans have been on earth 3.5 million years, maybe 140,000 years in something close to our current form, but civilization in a form we can recognize has only been around about 7,000 years so for most of human existence we were nomads following...

Why do solo female Nomads have an easier time attracting non-nomads than solo males?

I know you were joking but you still may be on to something  :-/ A person living in a van or RV is going to have to be more self reliant and so fixing little things before they become big things becomes a way of life, so a woman living fulltime in a converted van or RV is going to be...

Why do solo female Nomads have an easier time attracting non-nomads than solo males?

As I'm getting to know vanDwelling and fulltime RV couples, I'm noticing though most were either both nomads before getting together or together before becoming nomads, But among the minority where one was a nomad and their partner was not at the time when they met, it seems overwhelmingly more...

Choosing to be Single and on the Road

And this is why there are so many incel's  seems the majority of the country there are more men than women, thereby women you meet will always have more options than the men who are seeking them, and the few places women (Greatly) outnumber men most are the most expensive places in the country...

Choosing to be Single and on the Road

you are 100% correct 99% of the most traumatic periods of my life there was a female that was the source of said trauma, but those SAME women where also responsible for the happiest times in my life.  It's mind boggling how quickly women change once the new wears off of the relationship.

    Nomadland wins

You are absolutely correct I should have worded that better, I was speaking on perception and not reality, so when I say such things in the future keep in mind that I am speaking on perception I don't have, but those of "middleclass, manicured lawn having, PTA bake sale, types"(the types I grew...

    Nomadland wins

Actually I read the book also and though there was no character in the book named Fern having watched the movie it seems fern is an amalgam of several characters from the book as she got the stories of many of the books smaller characters.  Actually I think the movie was good at showing a...

will the explosion of full time Vandwellers that the life will be more costly.

just north of my city are 2 towns like that, they were farming/ranching towns up until the mid - late 60's  mostly agroculture with a bunch of trailer parks where mostly farm workers lived then in the late 60's the farms and ranches were not big enough to compete with the new fangled competition...

will the explosion of full time Vandwellers that the life will be more costly.

 Yep that would actually work IF YOUR TOWN WAS Just OUTSIDE OF THE CITY LIMETS OF A MAJOR CITY!!!! :@ I've seen it happen in little towns just outside of Dallas and Austin they attract hipsters who think it's quaint and artsy.

will the explosion of full time Vandwellers that the life will be more costly.

Many small towns are doing that in an attempt to change their reputation but that only works for small towns that are right outside of a major city small towns out in the middle of nowhere that do that are just killing their town quicker, unless they go the "resort town" route but you have...
