Should I bring a bicycle to Quartzite?

I have balance issues while on me feet, a motorized fat tire trike is the answer, but being top heavy, it tends to tip on an incline when taken on an angle. Canopy helps keep the sun at bay.

    24/7 Chat About Anything

Don't know if any replys will ever be posted again, just got notice that another post was denied. Questioning the reason. Nothing mentioned about my opinion on religion, politics, or what a good time I had with so & so's mother, (it was a fun first date)

    24/7 Chat About Anything

Left monday for Fremont Ca. to return defective Jackery that Fed-Ex said was hazmat inproper. Sent in the same box that Jackery sent. That done headed out for Pahrump to visit some old friends I haven't seen in 3 years. Got to San Jose & figured out there were to many wrong turns to make...

    Pop top or not?

Hugemoth, hey it sounds like you have the same pop-top that I had on my '62 VW bus. How I wish I had it back. I've had class A, C, 5th wheels, & currently a vintage F-250 with homemade camper. I'd trade em all for that old VW.

Seriously, so you want to be in love again...

I've been told that normal is the setting on a clothes washing machine. I am not normal, for 40+ years I didn't now the difference between sex & love, now that I've been single for 20+ years I know what love is, being taught by my 21 pound terrier. Sure, I'd like to find a soul mate, or a one...

    My Daddy Always Said

Dad always had a word or encouragement, he told me "you're not completely useless, you can be used as a bad example" He also had a ethical streak, he said "you should never hit someone who is down, it's a lot easier to kick em"

    Pirate Camp Winter Season 2022-23

I'm curious, what is pirate camp? it seems to be like HOWA, but more of a community gathering. I've spent several winters in Pahrump, but sadly an old friend has passed. Last year after a few months with covid, I had to get out of the wet, cold Washington coast. Met several amazing people in...

    Motivation

Always wait till the last minute to do what should have been done months ago. I got home from a sad road trip back in april. I had carburator trouble on the way south, I had it rebuilt in Pahrump and it ran worse than before. I made it back to the Washington coast & it died in the driveway...

    Just For Fun

One of my new T-shirts says "if you haven't grown up by the time you're 70, congratulations, you don't have to". The other one says, "Built in the 50's original, unrestored, some parts still in working order."

Is it okay to even have a pet as you age?

In the '60's when I was 18, they bet I wouldn't make it to 21. After 21 they bet I wouldn't make it to 30 because of my life choices with drugs & alcohol. I've been shot in the leg, stabbed in the back, heart attack at 48, bladder surgery at 50, (no cancer) but clean & sober over 20 years. If...

Starlink - The Scoop From A Nomad

About the birds, when living at the beach, we parked under the power line in a parking strip. Cars were a target for the birds. We erected a 20 foot tee pee near the parked cars with 6 foot colored ribbons from the exposed poles, alas no more birds, the ribbons scared em away.

New to the forum Saying Hi!

I'm in the process of buying a 2006 Yukon XL. 166k miles. Great looking rig, no dents, dings or scratches. Only 3K but needs a transmission, (4wd). Going to do the job myself, saving some $. My question is color. I've had black vehicles before & know they're hard to keep clean, not an...

I've discovered a unique way to keep my van considerably COOLER.

All above ideas sound great. I can't wait to get back down south to try some of them out. Now I'm still trying to find a carburetor for F-250. Truck died in driveway when I returned from winter excursion.

Off topic posts split from "How do u live on $700/month, truly?"

I can't say much for living under a bridge, but back in the early '70's I spent a week under a loading dock near the railroad tracks in Odessa Tx. Much cheaper than a van or RV is riding in a empty freight car. Either option requires a massive amount of wipes to (try ) keep clean. But hey...

Off topic posts split from "How do u live on $700/month, truly?"

I should make apologies, I don't fault the single mother of three who works 2 jobs or is between jobs and living on section 8. I was once between jobs trying to decide between cutting down on the drugs and alcohol to feed 3 children & a codependent wife. But I have evolved, (I hope) And...

How do u live on $700/month, truly?

I didn't see a car in line that cost less than 30K. I bought my only vehicle 12 years ago, for $1500, it's a '86 ford F-250 & I eat anything I want to. & I donate to the local food bank during the holidays, maybe I should make a commitment for a monthly donation. In my own defense, I don't...

    Long Time Lurker

Those bushcraft videos on Youtube are amazing, While I was off on my senior trip with Uncle Sam, they subdivided the land next to my parents place in the Northwest. One day the construction workers came to work & found a pile of 2x4's & plywood missing. After fallowing a trail into the woods...

    Duolingo

I had thought of moving to Mexico, inland somewhere away from the tourist crowds. I know several spanish words, mainly alcohol or food related. I've tried books, audio books everything I could find at the library, but nothing that I could actually use for conversation. I'd really like to own...

    Dispersed camping attack

Back when I was young & really stupid, I thought it was cool to dump my trash out of uncovered floor shift especially in front of law enforcement. For the last 50 years I've always had a plastic grocery bag hanging from floor shifter or a knob. I walk my dog 21/2-5 miles a day & never been on...

How do u live on $700/month, truly?

Well, it's all a matter of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it don't matter. I get $1497 a month total. I spend: $225 for lot rent for 40 ft fifth wheel $200 average for groceries $80 for Verizon jet pack (for internet) no tv $55 electricity (wood stove for heat, wood free from sawmill...
