Where's Global Warming when they need it? Mongolia has just seen its harshest winter in 50 years.

Its very clear and proven over and over how global warming affects the weather patterns. For every elevated degree, it raises the highs by a predictable amount and lowers the lows by a predicable amount. It affects both ends of the spectrum.

    That One Weird Trick

When your in the Laundromat, grab a couple of the push button detergent jugs out of the garbage cans. Rinse them out and fill with fresh water. Set outside on your table, tire shelf, etc . Quick and easy way to rinse/wash hands without going inside all the time. I tie a hand towel to one of them.

Camper Trailer That's Also a Boat

Love it, thanks for sharing. I would love to find a triple log pontoon boat, strip it of the two acres of vinyl seating and build a light weight cabin on it. That would be so neat to camp on in the swamps of Louisiana.

Bag users - where do you store #2

Pinto, this is what I do for the storage. I buy rolls of the cheapest 7-gallon bags. I have my DIY 5 gallon bucket loo ready to go at all times with a bag in it. I spread out the bag. I do my thing and then take a tie and tie off the solid "poo" near the bottom, I now cut the excess unsoiled...

USA Eclipses: Oct 2023 and April 2024 (pics welcome!)

I'll be in Concan Texas. Concan will have totality for 4 minutes 24 seconds. I am hearing you can take your glasses off in a Quora discussion. "The moon has blocked all of the harmful UV rays" "lower your shield and you will see the stars, the planets, it will be pitch black" "the temperature...

mount panels on side of trailer

Yap JAM, you clearly stated piano hinges meaning hundreds of fasteners. You never stated you were going to mount them at two Luan spots. Do it, I did and it works great. When folded down, make a "leading edge" flaring in front of the two edges facing forward. A 4" strip of plywood mounted to a...

    Inexpensive meals and eating

Once at the deer camp, a buddy and I were making biscuits, bacon and gravy for breakfast and for the others also. I noticed we were out of milk and everyone wanted white cream gravy on their biscuits. I noticed we had several containers of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream (we made a lot of...

Keeping the cargo trailer warm safely?

I have a diesel heater and love it. I bought the LF Bros version which is self-contained with the fuel tank inside the cover. It will run 30 hours on low (5000 Btu/hr) on a single fill (5L). I was going to install it outside and duct the hot air inside. That means I had to duct with a 3" hole...

    Furnaces created equal?

It's the little pulse injection pump that clicks, some people wrap it with marine engine hatch insulatio, it wont get hot, it's just gets a electro-mechanical pulse that activates a plunger at the rate of Btu you desire. Look up a Youtuber named look up a Youtube named David McLuckie, he has...

    Budgeting

It would be good to plan at a 5-year level, another words have a a 5-year plan/forecast. In this plan you will want to annualize tire replacements; truck = ($1400/60 = need to be saving $24 a month, the trailer tires also. A starter battery $200/48 =$4 month. One $3000 major repair in 4 years...

Thousands travel out of Burning Man as desert turns to mud

Actually, two miles to asphalt, you wouldn't follow the five-mile path coned out for queue 'Ing traffic, the dummies would walk the 5, but the smarties would take the SW heading for 2 miles.

    ATV as your other vehicle

I would try to go as light as possible. The shuttle is probably already high mileage and doing good to get itself around, now pulling a trailer with a truck on it, ouch, and you're talking about long trips, not just moving 20 miles to meet BLM requirements. Could you sale the trailer and the...

    Insulation?

Look for a youtuber named gonagain, Rick and Linda made a pole hammock and went to a Duc canvas place to have a custom cover made so that he could adjust the covers tightness in 3 different sections for the contour of his body. I t was very interesting.

    Jim - Solar Boondocker?

The laws of physics are in play here. First off, wind generates 5 watts of energy for 1 square foot at 10 mph. You can only capture 35% of that with the most modern design blade system. Let's call it 35% efficient, which that thing is not, so now you are down to 1.75 watts per sqft in 10 mph...

    Amazon - No Longer Useful

I'm a Prime member, get a lot of my stuff the next day if ordered in the morning. If something doesn't work, put it back in the box, print out return label and drop off at mail center, no questions asked. Lost my money twice with ebay, so no more of that. Amazon is great for what I call gadget...

another generator option...Use Your Car/Truck for Portable AC Power
