    Digikey

Interesting. Not my experience at all. They, however, have poor communication skills and seem to have trouble putting together a coherent paragraph. Often when I read their emails, more questions are raised than answered! Exaggerating for humorous effect, of course.

TX Gulf beach camping during summer

After researching some more, I'm leaning towards this for a summer (rotating Malaquite, Bird, beach), if I don't workamp. Affordable with my Senior Pass. I was there last March and enjoyed it but the beach had a warning re: storm surge so didn't do the beach camping (no 4WD).

TX Gulf beach camping during summer

Don't like skeeters and flies. Maybe I'll stick to N Padre. Think the wind would keep the bugs away?

TX Gulf beach camping during summer

Has anyone stayed the summer along the TX coast? I was at Padre Island last winter and liked it, thought I might spend a summer moving along the coast, maybe all the way to the FL Panhandle. I'm just not sure what the weather is like. Looking online, it doesn't seem too bad. I have no problem...

NM State park annual camp pass poss eliminated

The report states that the non-resident pass should be something like $450, based on inflation since 1998 when the rates were implemented. I would be glad to pay 500-800 but after reading the pdf of their thinking, it looks like the annual passes are going to be gone. They project that raising...

mount panels on side of trailer

Thx for the tips. I'm off road until May, working at Digi-Key, so will have time to think about it. I have an '05 trailer, so don't want to see the panels fly off while driving, taking a section of wall with them!!

mount panels on side of trailer

I have a smallish trailer and am getting a couple of 250 watt panels. What I did previously is keep them in the bed of the truck until I needed them but set up and break down was a bit of a pain. I looked at my roof and there may be room but I'm concerned with the shadow cast by the a/c cover...

NM State park annual camp pass poss eliminated

I've had the annual camping pass for years and was intending to make the NM state park system my primary camp when I retire in a couple of years. But now they're considering getting rid of it. It was nice to arrive, fill up the water tank, park near water, then dump my tanks when I leave. And...

    Digikey

I'm here now on third shift and it's much better job than last winter. But I would probably leave if I had to work a different shift.

    West Texas Falcon County Park

I was considering this place for next year instead of Imperial Dam.

Which bank is most convenient for van life?

I've stopped needing to write checks and have no need to go into a physical bank, so I have a Discover 'checking' account with debit card and a Discover credit card. They have no fee ATMs and can add cash for no fee at Walmart.

I found a "free" inverter in my van!

My Duxtop induction cooker varies wattage from 100-1800 depending on the temp setting.

Where would you go to live temporarily while finding a new rig?

My trailer got damaged last Aug. and then I got laid off. So I took a temp job at DigiKey in MN. Bob Wells has a video about the job, which includes housing. I started in October, found a nice trailer at a great price (a buyers market in the MN winter!) and will be heading south at the end of...
