newer vans?

I don't know if its true, but all the newer vans I look at seem smaller on the inside. Even before I gutted my '97 E-150 it was big on the inside. The low price was a bonus.

    Adhesives

    Hey Ziggy,
I read through your thread. I similarly was trying to maximize the space in my conversion van after pulling out the custom paneling. The Loctite spray adhesive could work to secure insulation to paneling. Because of curvature in the van wall I don't think any...

Ford vs Chevy Conversion Vans (USA)

I disagree Pikachu. G10-20-30s look better. But none of the newer chevys. Fords all the way!

    Home made Airconditioner for $20

Its a good idea, but I worry in a closed vehicle you would be blowing a lot of extra moisture into the air.

I imagine a metal frame would cause more road noise than wood. Just be sure it fits what you need.

    Conversion van window replacement...How?

    Thanks Sox,

That window looks similar to mine. It seems there is a frame installed which my window fits into from the outside and then is screwed into from the inside. Does this sound familiar?

Ford vs Chevy Conversion Vans (USA)

Ask what the original vehicle model was prior to conversion. I pulled the interior panels off of my ford e-150 conversion van and entered sheared-sheet-metal-hell. I think the original vehicle had long windows. This is making my plans difficult. If you don't plan on...

Should I throw away the back seats of my van?

If you are going to make any permanent alterations to your van then future buyers will have to re-renovate to re-install the seats. Who would want to buy a van and have to go through that hassle for some seats? I say rid yourself of the seats. Even at $30/month the cost of...

    ultimate cooler?

My conclusion from the video is that in terms of refrigeration, none really stand out. Except the igloo...which was by far the worst. I was surprised by the Yetti, considering all the hype about these overly expensive blocks of plastic.

    Conversion van window replacement...How?

Does anyone know how to replace the side windows on a conversion van? I can't find instructions with video and/or pictures anywhere. I know someone in this forum has done it but I'm unable to locate their thread.

    People Think I'm Crazy!!!!!

I went from US Air Force salary, great pay and benefits. To CNC machinist, poor pay and okay benefits. And now I plan to move into my van, drive to the beach and take a part time job, probably no benefits and min. wage. I've been slowly shedding "valuable" items and voluntarily...

Only took eight months to find

Wasn't expecting the rain. I hadn't finished around the trim yet or the back doors would have been sealed. I have a piece planned to fit flush against the back door seal. Oh well. Sunny and warm the next 10 days, so should dry out quick...assuming no humidity.

Only took eight months to find

Few more floor pics. We had a very strong storm with winds high enough to force rain through some seals and under the back doors. My insulation is a bit damp, so gonna have to wait for it to dry before continuing.
