    Gray water... why?

I carry a shovel and a square paving stone (12" x 12"). I dig a hole about 12 to 18" deep near the van. I put the liquid waste in the hole and then cover it with the concrete paver. Before I leave, I fill the hole with the original soil and press it down. For those who want to fuss, I have...

    24/7 Chat About Anything

It's odd how things affect certain people differently. I got one single COVID vaccination, and never caught it at all. A good friend got four vaccinations, and got COVID four times.

Homelessness [split from Leadville and Salida Ranger Districts]

Well, up here in the Pacific Northwest, it must be different. I read that 60% of the homeless are chronic drunks, about 32% are druggies, and the rest are just homeless. The people who operate the rehab facilities say that a large majority of both the drunks and druggies discover there are...

    Interesting Articles Relating to EVs

"Even horses produced a certain amount of waste". Except that housewives would see the 'deposit' and run out with a dust pan, scoop it up, and deposit it in the vegetable garden.😁

Question About Showering on BLM Land

Reading these posts, for some reason, I thought of septic tanks. They've been around for quite a while, and they're still being installed. People put urine, poop, and all kinds to pharmaceuticals into them. Just a passing thought......

    window van security?

I just read about this, have never had any experience with it. I took the following notes, I'm sure they're not complete, just a reminder for more research when the time comes. "Polycarbonate van windows are one of the most durable window materials on the market. They're almost impossible to...

    Keep clean WITHOUT soap!!

I used a tablespoon of baking soda per quart of warm water for bathing. No rinsing required. It cleans and deodorizes. Used it daily for almost a year, while working in an office, no stink issues. Dampened & applied to skin, it makes a good facial scrub. (Rinse face).

Homelessness [split from Leadville and Salida Ranger Districts]

The so-called "homeless" people in the news are basically drunks and junkies, with some professional deadbeats included. They aren't the people in this forum. Normal people don't camp in these places, because they are immediately identified as prospective victims.

    Interesting Articles Relating to EVs

It would really be nice if you're posting about stuff that is known by its initials (like EVs), to post the first time by spelling it out. Example: This post is about Electrical Vehicles (often called EVs).

Question About Showering on BLM Land

I've never tried it in the desert, but I am thinking of digging waste water holes using a San Angelo bar and a posthole digger, about 2 feet deep. Let it absorb into the soil, then just refill with the original soil. What do you think?

    Problem towing a trailer

I was following a pickup with a camper shell today, and it was towing a smallish utility trailer. The trailer was weaving back and forth. I have never seen this problem on the road myself, only in online videos. Two questions: 1) What causes this? 2) What can you do to prevent it?
