kinda' makes me want to go for a Connect since I'm not having any luck with finding any van right now....but I have dogs so I think we'd be pretty cramped in there! LOL
I am still looking for a van I can afford, they are expensive in this area, Texas. I'm planning to meet up with the GalVanNation group in Florida next month and will
have to use my car.....a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. My first trip! :) I have two dogs. I am hoping to trade in the car toward a...
I've been wondering about these earlier year vans, I see some good prices...that I can afford....but I worry about whether they will last, will something mechanical go wrong, which I know zip about. I can't really afford 2019 or heavens! 2020 so I've been looking at 2015 thru 2018. Still...
Thank you for all the good info. I've got a thin mattress from my dad's old metal cot so that would be a good start for the bottom, and I was thinking of trying to cut down my bed mattress because it's firm and I love that. But haven't gone forward on any of that yet. Been having problems...
I've read about people cutting a mattress down for a bed, has anyone ever tried that?
I'm still looking for my van....I'm thinking a high top, extended will be necessary because of my dogs. Seems like all of a sudden vans are popular and hard to find. Does anyone have a diesel vehicle? I'm...
Well. Didn't get the van. About 15 minutes before I got there, they sold it. I told them I was on my way but, they sold it. Stopped at a couple of places on way back home, didn't find anything. All of a sudden, cargo vans seem to be very popular.
Thanks! Shame the mobile guy isn't here until October, I'm hoping to leave by August...'course, way things are going I might be here in October. Ha! I think I'll check into the jackery, don't need much so that might work.
Thank you so much for info!f
Thank you all so much! I'm taking notes. I don't know why I'm nervous, I think once I'm out there I'll be extremely happy! It's just the getting started part, ha!
My inclination is to throw dogs, sleeping bag, some food in and just go. Then I start thinking well, eventually I'll need...
Hi everyone,
I'm very close to getting my van, and I'm nervous. I am a senior and I have dogs, plural. They've been with me for years. I really am taking baby steps, I can't afford monetarily to make any mistakes, so I have some questions I'd like to ask. I need to know what I should be...
Coachontheroad: I'm so sorry, somehow I got my message under your name. I don't know how I do these things, not good on computer. So sorry. Gertie
I fixed it for you Gertie. Mod rvwandering
I'm in the same boat, I think. Once I get my van how do I meet up with others? Do people gather periodically in different places? One day I'm all excited about this adventure, the next I'm worrying about being too old, and how will I learn everything I need to know....solar, electric, how to...
I'm glad you asked! I'm learning every day. Went out to check and this is what's on the door sticker: GVWR: 4700 lb; GAWR FR: 2531 lb; GAWR RR: 2531 lb. There's nothing that says the actual tow limit. It's a Nissan Frontier, '06.
I think the 1300 is possibly the weight of that ill-fated...
yes, that's one reason I was looking for box van....something I'd drive, rather than tow. My truck is 12 years old and weight limit 1300. Don't really want additional expense of buying a tow vehicle as well.
