    Trooper Travels!

Trooper is AMAZING! How can someone think of putting that sweet baby down? Yes I agree, pets with disabilities are a little more work. BUT they are SO worth it. My girly Pumpkin, I believe she is Autistic. She does NOT like changes, she has her spot, her bowl, a consistent time to eat, etc...so...

Correctly charging batteries and solar for a newbie

Thanks for the reply. I'm interested in the BLM areas. Laying over at a Wal-mart, Lowes, or Home Depot here and there. Will be in a higher up vehicle, still deciding on a step van or a skoolie.

Correctly charging batteries and solar for a newbie

AWESOME, thanks I will make sure to add that to the list of Solar items. I also will look into the Hot Logic, never heard of that before. When it's just me I don't cook a lot.  Another question I have is charging batteries from the generator on cloudy days. I don't want to have to start a whole...

Correctly charging batteries and solar for a newbie

Jim thanks so much for the info. I really value your input. From all the responses I got here, I'm looking at a "in the middle" system (I call it)but not the "just enough" version. 580-600 watts. My main concern was an A/C, if I got stuck in extreme circumstances. I'm getting the Honda 2000 for...

Correctly charging batteries and solar for a newbie

Thanks so much for the suggestion but the batteries will be under my dinette seat and will spend the extra 150$ and have someone teach me the correct method. I thought about flooded batteries but with my health I need something that doesn't require as much maintenance. I know that AGM's aren't...

Correctly charging batteries and solar for a newbie

Yea I think 350 watt panels would be a bit much and no help so yea they aren't magically gonna fly up to the roof lol. So the 4-165 watt ones will work for what I want to do and at that price I could go up to 600 watts. So let me ask you this, If you have 2 charge controllers, do you have to...

Correctly charging batteries and solar for a newbie

Those batteries are fine, the one's that Bob is using. That price is good. Ok now when you asked about all being connected in parallel, I had said that I was looking into 3-350 watt panels. Are those the ones that you were talking about? Or are we still on the 4-100 watt panels? Just want to...

Correctly charging batteries and solar for a newbie

Thanks for your reply. I haven't bought them yet but I was looking at them since I was watching some videos and came across them saying connecting 2 6 volt batteries, making a 12 v system would make your batteries last longer. The price seemed like a good deal to me.

Correctly charging batteries and solar for a newbie

https://www.apexbattery.com/6-volt-200ah-ub-gc2-photovoltaic-renewable-en.html If these aren't good ones, then I need to search for something a bit better. I could spend a little more for something that will last longer. Thanks for your help.

Correctly charging batteries and solar for a newbie

So speaking with another member on here, I've found you can incorrectly charge solar batteries and of course this can be costly. Never owning solar, it just throws me on some things. Greatly appreciate the help.

How much solar do I need?

Thank you Canine, I thought I would have enough but the inverter threw me for a loop. I thought about getting (3) 350 watt solar panels BUT I got lost trying to figure up the right amp of MPPT controller to get. I was going to get 6 batteries and a 3000 pure sine but again I have looked at so...
