If private enough area I take my pants/underwear off, hang on nearby tree or around my neck before squatting. Make sure shoes/feet are safely out of target zone. Having a tree, walking stick or shovel to hold onto help balance is good. And then bring a paper to read or think about turtles.

It can't of been a jackalope sounds more like an African horned tortoise. Are you sure there weren't any travelling zoos nearby.  They are the fastest known living turtle.  There was a prehistoric extinct turtle that was as fast as a hedgehog.  Maybe a lost link to that.

Ok you left us hanging. You don't do this and you don't do that. What do you do with your waste? Give it to the Russians to burn in orbit?

A note on "biodegradable" You would think that toilet paper would be biodegradable, and it is, butt, it takes quite awhile for it to break down. As a hiker I've seen a lot of toilet paper washed up on trails.  People do their business, cover it up with a little dirt and then the next good rain...

One possibility is to offer ourselves up as space guinea pigs.  The Russians have done it in the past with animals without their permission. They've savaged countless turtles and prairie dogs. You could volunteer.  It is easy to set up space junk cargo trailers where you'd have unlimited solar...

Hobby or something you've always wanted to learn. Examples: new language Can get books, cd's at libraries, book or thrift stores you like tech, then get a handheld dedicated gps device  You could spend hours/days learning the ins/outs of that. Turn it into a game by geocaching. Metal detector...

Sounds cool, like a tortoise shell, keeps you cool and warm. How much insulation on walls and ceiling? Any insulation on flooring?  What kind of temp. extremes do you expect to encounter? What are you pulling it with? Thanks for sharing.

Russians know how to experiment in cool ways.  But they ate them afterwards.  But it was not safe. Space turtle meat can cause death and other nasty things. Intestinal muscle clots, brain clots with tiny spots of liquefying brain, and sometimes bad breath too. Don't eat the turtles.  A good...
