    Safety Question

I can see that I opened up a can of worms. Lenny, you seem to be very good at presumption. I will leave it to you to pronounce judgement. EDIT: It appears I have made myself unwelcome here. I will not bother you again.

    Safety Question

I probably could have explained the situation with a little more clarity. First, we did not know at the time that it was a prank. My wife and two year old boy spent the rest of the night in crouched in terror on the floor of the camper. I spent the night in some bushes with the rifle in case...

    Safety Question

I just checked the folding handle on my RV. It could be forced, but not without some damage to the door and possibly the side of the trailer. Both escape windows are on the driver side. one five feet above the ground and the other seven feet. The window frame and safety latches are guaranteed...

East has hardly any free campsites 14 day stay...Nevada they seem numerous...

Try this URL for public lands. http://publiclands.org/ You are right about going down a dirt road without a map, especially with a trailer. My dad once had to back more than ten miles out of an abandoned railroad grade because there was no place to turn around.

johnny b; That map goes right to the heart of the problem - population density. There is no open public land this side of the Mississippi. What little public lands we have out east must be protected or they would quickly degrade from overuse. I live near an army corps lake. There were free...

    Hello from Georgia

I'm not worried about the difficulties of towing it, as I had a CDL for years and have moved logging equipment around the woods. The problem is that the trailer is nearly 12ft tall and not suitable for jeep trails. I bought a Thousand Trails membership from an estate and planned to stick to...

    Hello from Georgia

DLTooley; The trailer is parked in the yard. It hasn't moved since I bought it more than three years ago. It does make a nice guest house though. Traveling for me would be a means of escaping the summer heat and humidity. DW decided she is not going to boondock so I would be traveling alone...

    Hello from Georgia

The username says it all.  I'm retired, own a house, lots of stuff, a 5th wheel RV, and a truck to pull it.  I just can't get rid of obligations (and health issues) long enough to travel anywhere.  With a little luck the next hurricane will get the house and leave the RV. Doug

    RVers trash left behind........

Chris; The trash problem gets worse as you go east of the Rockies, and the texting is worst in the deep south. In both cases I think there is a cure - simple, painful enforcement of existing laws. Oregon was the first to adopt strict DUI laws, the first mandatory deposit on soda bottles, and...
