Major tire blow out

Last night while inside my van, I heard and felt a huge explosion and when I went outside I saw that my rear tire was just all blown apart. At first I thought someone shot a bullet in or jabbed a knife or something in it, but most of the blow out was in the tread area with some near the outer...

Applied what I learned at RTR

Hi guys, just wanted to say thanks to Forest at the January RTR in Quartzsite. He was that great looking young man with the big smile who put on the seminar on how to plug up a flat tire and also recommended the MV50 air compressor. Well, I had a flat tire yesterday on the freeway and had used...

    Setting up a battery bank

I'm almost at the ordering stage for my solar panels system and will be putting in AGM batteries in a series of 2-3, maybe 4 batteries. But I want to get 1 now while I am waiting to decide about the entire setup because my present Kirkland lead acid battery, that came with the van that I...

Where do you fill water tanks when living in the city?

Just wondering where you would go to constantly fill tanks without having to stay at an overnight rv park?

Anybody own this or seen this stove...?

Saw the exact same one at Costco for $149. I'm still in the inquiry stage of mobile living (scouting for a vehicle, etc.) but this seems like such a nice item and a great price I'm thinking of buying one while they are still available at Costco to be prepared. What do you think?
<br...

    How about this van...

1991 Chevy Sportsvan, propane and electric hookups and 15 gal water tank. 153k miles. Seller asking $4000. Kelly lists 1992 Sportsvan at about $1600 tops private party. I figure with the high top and propane maybe offer $2500-$3000. This would be my first venture into van living to get a feel...

Should high mileage vans be avoided?

Seems like all the vans I look into have at least 150k miles, even those just a few years old. I narrowing it down to a high top. Sprinters are terrific but like I said, even a 2008 diesel is worn out with mileage and yet they still want top dollar.

    Using portable generator

Can you operate these things inside the van or do you have to take it outside or put near open side or rear doors?

Confused about what I want to do.

About 17 years ago I sold my clinical office, most of my possessions, put the rest (still a alot) in storage, bought a Toyota mini-camper at auction, and lived in it for two years. Much of it was off and on parked in the driveway of my sister's, but then had to boondock when her landlord...
