Hi, I have a GMC 2500 and you might have the same vehicle mfg information. If you are apprehensive about throwing your vin number out across the intertnet . Try looking in your glove box, there should be a sticker which should have all the information as to your truck axle gearing etc etc.  It...

    DIY Truck Camper Roof

Hi Everyone, Im in the process of making a truck camper....long story short I will be using it for weekend getaways and and for several days at a time when I start building a small cottage as a retirement base camp a few years from now. Question: Would it be ok to use a pond liner as roof...

1500 vs 2500 Diesel or Gas

Plenty of diesels with over 200,000 miles...the best approach if using stats ( which I also took in college) would be to approach why so many diesels are for sale around 200,000 miles... a more likely probability would be owners getting rid of them because they want something newer "to impress...

    Stock

FWIW I have made some of my best returns from medical marijuana...it is a pink, OTC stock...aka penny stock....I only played what would hurt too loose but not wreck me....I was using a social premise that the marijuana laws would loosen up if Hillary was elected, but quickly got out when Trump...

Good point! I think I see what you are saying....a little light in the rear and no tongue weight without it?  Maybe a motorcycle and or a bigger water container for those desert folks...lol for some reason it just says possibilities

Now this one is neat build

Hi Folks, I was searching the local craigslist for some camper parts such as windows...maybe a cheap stove etc and I came across this neat build on a standard trailer...they used the back half for the camper and the front was like a toyhauler for a 4 wheeler or motorcycle etc....they claim it is...

    Diesel Truck

Yes I have seen Allison transmissions in a 2500 chevy 8.1 Gasser, I asked the guy what was his mileage like with that big block, he said 12 miles to the gallon, if he was towing or not.

    Diesel Truck

with 6k I would look for the older Ford IDI's from 1994-back either a 6.9 or the 7.3...cheap and easy to work on. An older dodge 12vavle cummins would be a good choice too. You could probably find a good F-350 dually in those year ranges for under 6k

DIY Over Cab Shell or Slide in ?

Hi Bullfrog,  I went to that web site and checked out teardrops and tiny trailers and saw a PMF job a fellow did and it looked darn good! I will probably return the 3/8 beaded plywood and skin it with something else...do you think that thin luan would be ok and what did you use as a filler when...

DIY Over Cab Shell or Slide in ?

Hi  It is a stock bed duallly. It will mostly be on the road but I will probably go on somewhat maintained National Forest roads. I was thinking of 3/8 beaded plywood for the exterior which could take a good paint or waterproof stain...the reason I was thinking of the 3/8 beaded plywood...

DIY Over Cab Shell or Slide in ?

Hi Folks,  Im pondering to build a over cab shell camper on a budget similiar to what Mr Wells made or just throw a little bit more effort and expense and make a slide in? 1500 vs 2500 Diesel or Gas

My .02 on the truck choices, its really apples Vs oranges. The gassers and diesels have their pluses and minuses. I have a 2500 6.0 gasser...it is a fuel hog, you will stop more often, sure it tows ok but coming from a diesel and into the gasser it is mediocre at best.  Sure I can tow 5-6 k with...

    Hi Folks

Hi Jerilynn, I guess I will probably do something like that, use the RV as a home base and burn the road up for most of the time. I thought about building a small retirement home on a dirt patch somewhere, but that would lock me in again to the home thing but with less expenses, so in...
