    Missing person near Williams AZ

I just had a Coconino County sheriff stop by my camp. He mistook my van for a Ford. He's looking to locate a missing female in a white '02 Ford Econoline van. That's all the info he gave me. I told him I'd call if I see her

Strange behavior with Battle Born battery. Battery dead when it should still have charge??

I would fully charge it and hold it at 14.4 volts for 30 minutes (absorption) to balance the cells. Those are the specs Battleborn gave me when I first bought mine

    Amazon - No Longer Useful

Amazon takes two weeks to deliver to my box in Ehrenberg. Back home in Florida, it's a whole different story. Sometimes I can get same day, overnight or...if it's not in their local warehouses a few business days. I stopped ordering from them out west. I bought some things off Ebay and other...

Transmission dilemma on a Chevy Express 1500

For what it's worth, I put the mechanics who advise against servicing a tranny on the same shelf as the mechanics who brag about never using a torque wrench. The exception would be if the transmission fluid was already extremely toasted

    Catalytic Heaters

There will be times when the Wave3 is fighting to keep up with the cold, say below 40 degrees f (in my particular van) but it's a radiant heater and I sit within a couple of feet of it. It warms objects before it heats the air so I can stay relatively warm when it's noticeably colder a couple of...

    Catalytic Heaters

I have a Wave3 in my van. I've used it from 150' below sea level to 8000' above with no issues. It sips propane, especially on low. Moisture has never been a problem because I always have plenty of ventilation. I have a CO sensor as well. I wouldn't run a propane appliance without one

Do any of you have experience in dealing with waking up at night with air/gas buildup in the lower stomach.

Gas-Ex or any brand of generic simethicone. I use the Equate brand from Wally World and by far prefer the softgels. Antacids are not effective for gas

    Salton Sea, Slab City

From the second article: Traditionally, lithium extraction involves either open-pit mining or evaporation ponds, which work by pumping lithium-containing brine to the surface and waiting for the water to dry up. Both of these methods have huge land footprints, are often very water intensive...

It could turn out to be a good thing particularly if California works out a deal with these companies to clean up the mess that's already there and...

    Salton Sea, Slab City

Link to story in the Desert Sun I don't know how lithium mining is going to affect Slab City but I'm glad something constructive will happen with the Salton Sea. As it is, it's literally a sewer and gets worse as time goes on. The New River, the most polluted river of its size in the US dumps...

We need a "Phylosophy of Vanlife" discussion category

Me? I keep it simple. I get up, make a cup of coffee, poop in a bucket, then get on with my day. As an afterthought, I'll mention the herd of nine wild horses that showed up 200 ft from my camp after the rain melted the snow right outside the south gate of the Grand Canyon the other day

I was going to become a supporting member until my post in this thread was deleted by a moderator. Take notice new forum owners. Let me rephrase my deleted post. There is nothing good about rising gas prices. Nothing. Nothing at all

Auto Repair in Parker / Lake Havasu

Just having the cap off will cause noise. If it were me, I'd get another at an auto parts store, get an oil change, and be done with it unless it still doesn't sound right. The existing oil filter should have filtered out most of the dust that got in there.
