conversion van AC unit on battery

Yes, you are correct there. My van already has a rear condenser in it. I'm not planning to change, was just saying it could be done, but WHY?  As you said, solar AC is so much easier!!!

conversion van AC unit on battery

My Ford E-350 has a rear AC that is directly coupled to the AC in the engine.  So if one were to wish to run the rear AC, one would indeed need to completely disconnect the rear "AC" from the compresser in the engine compartment, install a second compresser to power the rear equipment, and then...

3 years down the CRVL rabbit hole

I have been medically retired for a bunch of years now, but not quite healthy enough to be able to take the plung. In the mean time my hermitage had been coming along quite nicely, and I was "happy" rambling around in my 650 sqft apartment. As I started to get healthier, I wanted to focus on...

    Sound Deadening Mat?

When I'm boondocked, my rig is quiet as a tomb, that's what I want and need. Road noise is just me getting from one spot to the next, so it's not that big a deal, plus on the highway, she's pretty quiet, so I cannot complain! Thanks everyone for confirming that worrying about sound mats is not...

    Some thought's about Solar...

I started fulltime life January 3rd of this year as I left Cincinnati for the WRTR.  I hadn't planned to go fulltime, but I hadn't really planned to go to the WRTR this year.  My family talked me into it.  So my plan was simple, go to the WRTR, then go to LA for a week or two to give friends and...

Just if anyone cares, Jim in Denver (http://jimindenver.com/) is a seasoned, experienced installer of complete power systems.  I met him this year at the RTR and then spent a bunch of time with him while he was helping other people in our Caravn get solar installed, or even repaired (one woman's...

Valley Fever should I be concerned?

Sorry, no, Valley Fever is a fungal infection that cannot be easily or cheaply treated and can land you in intensive care, or worse.  A flu shot is an anti-viral, sadly there is no vaccination or good treatment for Valley Fever.

Valley Fever should I be concerned?

Hiya Bob, Rates of infection have exploded over the last 10 years to epidemic proportions according to the CDC,. People with certain health issues, including those on chronic steroid therapy (like I am) are much more likely to contract it.  It annoys me that I may not be able to go to effected...

Valley Fever should I be concerned?

Richard is correct, "Valley Fever" is a microbial fungus that is easily airborn and seeks out warmer, wetter places to grow. A single microscopic particle gets into your lungs and it starts to grow and spread.  Common symptomology with colds and flus, as a fungal infection there is no easy (or...
