Reason - Why there such a growth in vehicle living.

I'm late here again, and just catching up, but the posts about John Wayne's history became irrelevant in a thread labeled 'Just for Fun'. Our moderators function as a team and we are under no obligation to reveal who deleted what. It's a team effort trying to keep the forum functional and...

Gear For Sale Sportsman gasoline-powered inverter portable generator 1000/800 watt for $170

Yeah you can change the carb jets which I have done on a couple of my more expensive generators, but I already own and service 5 gensets, plus a range of other gasoline and diesel powered items....so my interest as a buyer for this one would be, maybe as a spare.

Reason - Why there such a growth in vehicle living.

I have deleted a couple of argumentative posts. Everyone gets to post opinions and links (within the rules of the forum) However, posts that contain 'name calling' or disrespectful references (one member to another member) will be deleted. Carry on.

    Carla's Camper

There should be a breakaway switch mounted on the trailer tongue. Its usually just a small black box (about the size of a deck of cards) and it should have a small plastic 'plunger' inserted in the forward facing edge. This plastic plunger needs a lightweight cable running from the plunger to...

    Carla's Camper

Bullfrog referred to an RV toilet wand earlier...I used one of these in my old 1987 motorhome and they really do help clear out the poop clogs and also they will help clear the crud off the tank sensors. Most recently built RVs have a garden hose input port for cleaning the black tank: it...

    Havelock wool availability question

That's just one more thing we are running out of. Yep, sand. I think behind air and water, it's one of our most valuable resources and believe it or not, sand smuggling is a thing. Whooda thunk it. Oops...off topic...back to wool!

Metromile Vehicle Insurance, Pay by the mile. What do you think?

Many years ago I used a company called MileMeter. Similar concept, except all you did to renew every 6 months was take a picture of your odometer with any digital camera or smartphone and email the image to them. No OBD2 tracking device needed. It was very cheap for me, because the pickup I was...

Dome fans - converting exhaust to intake

These dome fans use a little 'hobby motor'...the 'brushes' are just little strips of brass or maybe copper. They are just 'toy' motors...except these run on vehicle 12v, instead of d-cell batteries like they would in a toy. But again, the centrifugal blower design does NOT work in the reverse...

USA Eclipses: Oct 2023 and April 2024 (pics welcome!)

The problem now is that the weather forecast along the path of totality in Texas is not looking good for eclipse viewing. Of course that can change so I will be looking at the predictions every day. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Installation of an 11" roof fan in my camper shell

Yeah, but because of the downward slope and the close fit with the metal air deflector, and because this is an 11 inch and not 14 inch, the options are very limited. I really do not want a big old vent cover up there, and even if I did, those are attached by slotted brackets that attach to the...
