    Dumest things on a truck....

I hate how tall new trucks are; you should be able to reach over the sides to get stuff out of the bed. And 4 door trucks with tiny beds; why buy a truck when your just gona drive it around like a car. If I bought a new truck it would be regular cab 8' bed and I would probably lower it so I...

Do some makes/ models of vehicle appear to handle winter salt better than others?

I live in Minnesota and I don't think theirs much you can do to prevent rust on anything besides good regular cleanings paying special attention to anyplace that dirt and salt can sit. Yes the dodges and sprinters rust out fast and maybe that's do to some cost cutting that is done by dodge but...

    Electric Underfloor Heating?

I am debating putting an electric 110v heat pad like that in the floor of my van. But I would only use it when I was at work where I could plug in. It would be free heat (for me) and help the webasto not run as much.

    Box Truck Floor Insulation

In my opinion insulation on the floor is a waste of time in van/conversion. 80% of your heat is lost through the ceiling and the one inch put on the floor isn't gona do shit to actually keep the floor from being cold in the winter. Your better off putting that extra inch on the ceiling to keep...

    Confused about fuse panel wiring/info.

18 gauge wire is way to small. Do like sternwake said. Open up the cover and wire 12 gauge direct to the 12v power supply in the fridge. And to your fuse block. Either get another block to ground everything to or just return the one you have for one with a ground block in it.

    Rust Prevention & Flooring Suggestions

I probably wouldn't do anything with the floor it don't look like its scratched down to the medal just into the primer. If your worried about the slightly scratched up floor wipe it down with some rubbing alcohol to remove any oils or dirt and paint it. I would get 5/8" or 3/4" plywood for...

    Van Resale Value?

I get where you guys are coming from but I do know my wants and needs. Building out my own promaster is probably the only way I will get into the lifestyle. Not saying there is anything wrong with going a cheaper used route but its not for me. A little background on me; I've bought 4 new...

Redoing the floor of my van

I agree its not worth the space that the insulation takes up to properly insulate the floor. I don't plan to insulate the floor when I build mine out and I'm gona full time in Minnesota. I plan to put down a nice thick wool rug and wear slippers in the winter. If I was going to put anything...

    94 F150 with I-6 as tow vehicle?

A good friend of mine had a 94 regular cab long bed 2wheel drive with the I-6 auto tranny The motor was solid but it got horrible gas millage not towing anything 11 on a good day if you tow with that you would be lucky to get 8mpg no way would I buy one of those to be my daily driver or tow...

    Extreme Winter Insulating?

If its just for a survival and not for comfort I would just get a REALLY good sleeping bag some good blankets and a piece of foam you can roll out to lay on. I wouldn't bother with a heater just trap your body heat in the best you can.

Overdrive On / Cruise Control when towing on level ground?

I would definitely use cruise control and overdrive with your new truck. My truck is a 08 F150 v6 manual trans long bed 2 wheel drive that's only rated to pull 2300lbs. The most I have pulled with it was a 8000lb. Granted the motor didn't like it and the clutch was pissed but it did it. Most...

    Confused about fuse panel wiring/info.

The picture doesn't really show much but the ground buss will need to be grounded out to the batteries and anything your running on it will also need to be grounded out (usually to the panel ground buss) Basically its just a location to ground everything out to. And you should size your...

    Van Resale Value?

We have looked at a lot of new and used class B's we don't like how big they are on the outside and how little room they have on the inside. They just have to much stuff that we don't want and are usually cheaply made. And yes both me and my wife need to be happy. She is really looking...

    Van Resale Value?

I've been researching the life style for almost 2 years now and every time I think to get a house or stay renting I keep coming back to the van life. It is for me but I just like to know my options is why I'm asking of resale value. I spend $1000 a month right now for rent and a cheap house...

    Duracell Batteries

My power needs as of now are the max air fan, whynter/edgestar fridge, led lights, wabasto heater, charging phones and laptops, and an inverter to run a 52"led tv and xbox one s that I already own (I'm only putting the tv and game system in for the winter months)

    Duracell Batteries

945w to charge a 300ah battery sounds like even more overkill than me. haha I'm looking at 1 250w 24v at the moment instead of 4 100w 12v panels. I could fit a second 250w on the roof later if I need it but its starting to look like I won't. I'm still up in the air if I should hook it up...
