    24/7 Chat About Anything

The wind has been rocking the motor home all day. It just started raining lightly here in Quartzsite. Where I'm moving this next week has snow and freezing temps all week. I think I'll stay around Q for another week.

New here, going nomad out of necessity

There is an MD Anderson Cancer clinic in Phoenix. I go there for my yearly cancer checkups. If you can get insurance that will cover Banner Hospital then I can recommend MD Anderson without reservation.

Rain has started in Quartzsite. I was worried when it was 54* and windy at 5:30am. Growing up in the Midwest I don't like it when it is too warm and the wind picks up. That used to mean tornado.

    Keep clean WITHOUT soap!!

@Gr8ful I think you are the one who turned me onto the just add water disposable wipes. I ordered a bunch (which I still have a few) at the time. It was when I was talking to a cousin who was traveling internationally about the joys of dry wipes for travel that I saw they disappeared. The...

    Keep clean WITHOUT soap!!

I use the Scrubzz just add water wipes and usually cut them into quarters. A quarter of one will do face and neck, and a bit more as I work down. I also like to have a 'fresh' quarter to rotate in as I work down rather than one larger sheet.

    Furnaces created equal?

Vancity Vanlife on YouTube has moved into an uninsulated van as his van needs a new engine and he is using an all in one diesel furnace in a somewhat temporary setup. I can hear the clicking of the pump in his videos. Some sound insulation around that area may be in order.

Today I move the cat and dog to the motor home in Quartzsite. I'm not sure this having 2 motor homes is any less work. I will officially be in Q for the winter, but then I come back up here and clean and winterize and move to storage the motor home up here. I'm hoping by November 1 things...

It is cold here at night (50's?) and I've run out of propane with less than 2 weeks left to stay in this spot. I have an electric heater running and just put in an order for a new tank. I'll try to store the almost full tank behind the rig once I move it to the storage spot for this winter...

    OREGON '23...............Postcards from the Road

Oooohhhhh. I can't wait to talk to Paulette. We obviously share a great love of yarn. My plan is to be totally moved into the park in Q by November 1.

    What are you doing today?!

I tried to move some things from my summer rig at 5K' to my rig in a park in Q yesterday. Forgot to take the keys to open the door. So, some stuff got put in the unlocked side bins and rest came home. I'll try again Friday, and the keys are in my purse now. 30th I'll move the rest that can't...

    Solar generators

I thought the end consensus for the Bluetti thread above was that it was a single malfunctioning unit, not a widespread model or brand issue.

    Heading to Quartzsite

With the motor home you can park any place in the LTVAs all winter for $180. Has dump stations, water and trash. If you stay for very long at all you could pay more than that in dump and fill fees when trying to stay on 'free' BLM land. Check out Pirate Camp in La Posa South. Ask Abnorm for...

    Nine things nomads never need!

I have a portable carpet spot cleaner that I use a lot on the carpet in the Pace Arrow. I have 2 pets, so needed something. However I have 2 strips of maybe 2' x 3' carpet so anything larger than hand held would be overkill.

Hello! Any advice and help appreciated!

Being willing to adjust to what is can be an important part of enjoying this lifestyle. Plan for everything you can, but know that when things go wrong usually several things pile up. It is the step from accepting that water isn't just turning a knob and it always runs, or adjusting a...
