Looking for YOUR firsthand suggestions for free camping in northern North Dakota and northern Montana (HWY 2 area)

A lot of small towns in NoDak have rv sites in city parks or small rv parks. These are needed for harvest crews so might quite full during the harvest but are available for anyone.

Glad to see things moving back from the grave again or probably back from the care home. Hoping things go as planned.

Humming/Vibration noice when pressing gas pedal

Same power steering problems in North Dakota. Three winters, three new pressure hoses. Amsoil full synthetic ps fluid has seemed to help.

Now Is the time to fix all the quick fixes so they don't reappear. Good luck with the "new" engine.

Torque and Trailer Towing in my 4.8L Chevy

As far as the axle locker, look on your option sticker. It is in the glovebox or stuck on the underside of the hood, most likely. Look for a G80 rpo code, that is the factory locker. It locks when one wheel spins a certain amount more than the other. It unlocks above 20 mph or so.

White roof paint/coating for aluminum box truck roof

I have Henry's Tropicool roof paint on my hightop van and little trailer roofs. It has been on for about 5 years and has lost its sheen but not chalking and holding up well. I got it at Home Depot but it should be available at most of the big box lumber stores and maybe bigger hardware stores...

    New Solar Panels

It's pretty much potato, potahto. Maybe the only real difference is price and it's trivial. Seems like poly panels are slightly smaller size if space is a problem.

You seem to have an enormous amount of faith in JB Weld. A cracked piston can only be fixed one way, with a new one. But if JB Weld works, I'll gladly eat my words. But if it doesn't it'll need to come apart again or worse, another shortblock.

Yeah, we've all forgot something a time or two. Though I've never forgot a bearing shell.🙃 Put a new motor in a 78 chev pickup and it knocked when we started it. Scratch our heads a while till we decided to pull it to look at the bearings. When we got it out we noticed a shiny spot behind the...

I'm with Bullfrog. Just seems easier to do it now than out in BFE along side the road with a long walk for parts.

I vote, backtrack. They keep your head and gasket aligned. The bolts just keep the head clamped down to the block. Better to find it now than later. Not like some of us haven't had to do it in the past. Not sure about the gasket. If you tightened bolts, replace it. If you didn't, you should be ok.

    Jury Duty

During my working life I've been called for jury duty 4 or 5 times. Each time I have explained to them that I can't serve from April through November because of my work, concrete construction. I had a small crew and it would stop work for all of us, adversely effecting my and the crews income...

    Paint shop for high top

I coated mine with Henry's Tropicool roof paint. My 24" top was painted to match the van color but was sun faded and pealing. I scuffed the top with 220 grit well and rolled and brushed on two coats with an hour or so between coats. It was dry and weather safe in a few hours but not cured hard...
