I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

Well, I'm learning fast that it isn't power usage that completely stops a person from watching T.V. out on the road. It's the internet and phone companies that screw a person over. I just want to know how bad it is when an Unlimited phone plan slows down the internet on you? No T.V. except for...

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

Yeah, I'm still looking. I have two GB's on my cell phone so I think I will watch movies on it until my data limit is reached to see how bad the throttling gets. https://www.consumerreports.org/cell-phone-service-providers/best-cell-phone-plan-deals-for-you-and-your-family/

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

P.S. Spectrum charges $14 for each GB after you reach you data limit and this is what they want you to pay for. I thought this was the deal of the century but it may be just a broomstick up your behind.

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

When you reach you data cap they throttle your speed. When you get throttled you will pay more to extend your data cap to another level. That's how they rip you off.

Watch out and read the fine print. They tell you on the front page there's no data caps but after 20 to 30 GB's they do cap your speeds. I'd really look into this deal better. It may be a rotting fish out of water?

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

Of course I thought they were splitting a $250 bill but since I was researching companies all day I decided to go check out Spectrum and it's only $50 a month for unlimited data with no caps a phone I was sold. :) Check it out yourself if your a van dweller and like to watch T.V...

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

I'm so damn happy that you came on this thread and shared that info. I would buy you a beer if you were in this area. I just had a touch of wine :)

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

I'm good with Spectrum. There's going to be at least 4G where I will be hanging out in my van. Spectrum is owned by Charter Communications and I've run into that company a few times. Tony, I think you should get a commission from Spectrum for all the people from this forum migrating to them :)...

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

Cool :) $50 a month with unlimited data sounds about my speed. The site says no data caps which is a big plus so that means no throttle down. I have to find out more info on this like coverage area but just the face of it looks great. Thanks Tony's Dream!

I can always put an antenna on top of my van and watch the analog t.v. junk.

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

I'm getting to know Van Life well now. NO, I'm not wealthy. I'm still going to try to hammer out this problem to see if I can find a hidden gem like that government data giveaway program. I don't really want to go on that government program but in 3 years if it's the only game in town I might do...

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

I guess if this government program is around in 3 years and since it has been passed into law I can get unlimited data for free. I'm on Medicaid as I've mentioned in several posts. The only thing is your Medicaid is no good outside the state your in. I'm still looking. Satelite T.V. is another...

I Need Some Advice On T.V. Service In My Van

I have "Boost Mobile" for my cell service. They gave me 2gb and I don't know how much T.V. streaming I get for that because I'm in a home for the time being with all the amenities for now. I was watching some videos on how to get T.V. channels in my van and the guy stated to stream T.V...

Wow, Nevada residency is apparently expensive!!

With the way inflation is rising senior discounts are a myth now. There's not going to be any reduction in prices for years to come. Meals On Wheels is the only senior discount.

Walmart is a discount grocery store for the population including seniors :)

In 3 Years I'm Looking To Caravan All Year Only In Nevada With Some New Friends

I've read that many new residents of Nevada stay at an RV park in Pahrump for $300 a month to get their residency. Of course I'm just reading the posts of others and have no personal knowledge. I plan to get out to Pahrump some day to see how I mesh with HOWA but right now my van life plan is...

    Experimenting with portable AC unit

Thanks Malamute! I posted this on another thread about the generator I will be purchasing. So far, and this may change but I decided on the "Westinghouse 4500 3700 Electric Start" generator. It has a "Remote Control Start". I can press a button on the remote and the generator will start from my...

In 3 Years I'm Looking To Caravan All Year Only In Nevada With Some New Friends

I could afford that and will check it out but! I really hate the summer heat. Living in a van and having to stay in it 24/7 during the summer isn't in my plans. I was planning on going north in the Virgina City area because it's at a higher elevation and the temps stay in the high 70's while...

In 3 Years I'm Looking To Caravan All Year Only In Nevada With Some New Friends

I really like what you stated about a home base but Nevada is mostly rural and rents are going through the roof here in Vegas and even in rural small towns. You can't get a decent room to rent for under $600 a month now. I've been doing all the work on my van for 30 years so I don't think a...
