    ✅ Questions about Ford E-450 w/ 6.8 Gas Triton V10…

Thanks. Yeah, I took a pass on that one and bought a 2008 with 177,000 miles with a rebuilt engine with only 22,000 miles on it and new exhaust manifold, etc.

    ✅ Questions about Ford E-450 w/ 6.8 Gas Triton V10…

Ok, back to the topic…. Is it normal for a 6.8 V10 with 172,000 miles and oil changes every 5000 miles to need a quart of oil every 1000 miles?

Nah, it’s okay! Leave it up.👍

    ✅ Questions about Ford E-450 w/ 6.8 Gas Triton V10…

How on earth did this thread drift from questions about a box truck with a gas 6.8 V10 to a diesel ambulance for sale at an auction?😂

Getting around the "white cargo van = lucrative breakin" thing

Alarms are good but we are trying to make potential thieves pass our vehicle over. Besides signs, I plan on installing an ignition kill switch in mine too.

Getting around the "white cargo van = lucrative breakin" thing

Someone left a comment on a YouTube page about this. He had signs on his van that said something like “carpentry service” and was broken into several times. He said that he changed the signage to something that had to do with septic tanks or sewage and no one has broken into his van for the last...

Getting around the "white cargo van = lucrative breakin" thing

“Warning Vicious Dog” stickers plus a motion activated BIG dog bark over a sub woofer could be effective. Being able to program it to bark every x minutes might help too. Only problem is that on hot days someone might break your window with the intention of saving the dog!

    ✅ Questions about Ford E-450 w/ 6.8 Gas Triton V10…

Typically 150,000 to 200,000 miles. Some have rebuilt engines though.

    ✅ Questions about Ford E-450 w/ 6.8 Gas Triton V10…

Does “plenty of room to work” include being able to access all 10 spark plugs for tuneups later and a compression test now? And can I do the compression test without removing the front seats? Good sound advice. Thank you.

Thanks. Just hoping to find out in advance of driving the 100 miles to check it out so I can prepare.

    ✅ Questions about Ford E-450 w/ 6.8 Gas Triton V10…

I have done compression tests before but was wondering how easy or difficult it would be to access the plugs in this vehicle with it’s short van front cab. For example, I have a Toyota Sienna minivan and changing the back 3 plugs is h*ll because the engine is mounted transversely.

    ✅ Questions about Ford E-450 w/ 6.8 Gas Triton V10…

I know that, but thanks. Just wanted to communicate what the chassis / platform was to everyone because the E450 was predominantly used with box trucks and motorhomes.

    ✅ Questions about Ford E-450 w/ 6.8 Gas Triton V10…

I am thinking of buying a 2006, 2007, or 2008 FLEET Ford E450 with the Triton 6.8 gas V10 and the 5R110W TorqShift 5-Speed automatic trans. These are fleet trucks that have had hard use carrying heavy loads but all had full inspections and oil and filter changes every 5000 miles. I have a few...

Should I Replace Fiberglass Roof On Box Van with Metal Roof?

I am thinking about converting a box van into a full time home for travel. Some box vans have metal roofs and some have fiberglass roofs. Whether the ceiling is metal or fiberglass, I would install wood or aluminum "rafters" and thick foam insulation, plus the ceiling material, all of which...

    Is public drinking water safe?

I wont drink it. Lotsa nasty stuff in tap water like fluoride and some municipalities are doing “toilet to tap” now. (Ha, what could go wrong?!) I drink about a gallon of water a day so I want water that tastes good too so I get mine from those RO machines that are outside of most grocery stores.

Has Anyone Seen This? Deadly Bacteria With 50% Fatality Rate Declared Endemic To The US Gulf Coast

It's been quite a while since I read those so you will have to take the time to do your own research if you care to. I do remember one particularly snarky article in the LA Times hyping the hysteria had a link to a study. The disingenuous and evil (I think) writer didn't bother to tell his...

Has Anyone Seen This? Deadly Bacteria With 50% Fatality Rate Declared Endemic To The US Gulf Coast

Funny how the usual 30,000 to 70,000 annual flu deaths in the US weren't being recorded during the plandemic. I wonder if the CDC updated their site yet?

Has Anyone Seen This? Deadly Bacteria With 50% Fatality Rate Declared Endemic To The US Gulf Coast

Much of the data was based on false numbers though. I read many of the peer reviewed studies and they were quite simple to understand. I'm thinking of one study that the media ran with and politicians used to control us where they didn't bother to mention that the covid deaths in the study were...
