    What's in your medical bag?

Ill open her up and take some photo's of what's inside, and at some point ill put together a complete list and make a thread. Some of the more esoteric items I keep for really rare emergency's. Like the EpiPen to treat severe allergic reactions for my self or others. Quick clot (IBD) if I need...

Best places to go out West for vehicle dwelling?

Saving $450 a month is better than many, so its up to you. I would also think it would be hard to work a regular job and continue to live in a Van. But people do it. Others will know better than I. But BLM and state/Fed parks are plentiful. I do most of my adventuring in the NE upstate NY Main...

    amateur radio

GMRS has been the Go To more and more. I use a GMRS radio in my 4Runner, not a ton of people on it ether but i like it better than CB. WRMF544

Do I really need to tint the windows?

Black out window covers are great, a must in one form or another (I use reflectix too). But the big plus with tint as an addition is the way it can hide the window covers and anything else inside with out 100% obstruction. Looks really nice vs the covers only.

    What's in your medical bag?

I have that same thing! Forgot I added it. Great stuff for splinters and the like! Also have Calamine lotion. Added it after getting minor poison ivy last year.

    Fire!! Help!!

The moral of the story is don't cook with grease inside, and always have a fire extinguisher handy.

    Best way to store clothes?

Plastic air tight bag, like a big zip lock (vacuum storage bags). Allows me to remove all the waisted air space and I can fit way more in a bag, also keeps them dry. I usually use them for clean cloths that may be stored for summer/winter or just to save space with something that can be...

How do you organize your life and keep from getting overwhelmed?

Well I pretty much wing it with a 9-7 job. I no longer have kids or a house so I have tons of time now even with 5 days of working all day/night. Doing laundry (multi task during this time since this can take 2 hours of sitting around) like clean room & wash dishes. Washing dishes (do this...

Is my vehicle smog-free enough for California?

Its fine for CA. If you are looking to live there, my advice is don't do it....

    What's in your medical bag?

As an old Eagle Scout I like to be prepared and I know the medical basics but there is so much to be prepared for. So I watched a ton of prepper videos and had my son (whos a Paramedic) get me a few things. I guess it may be of benefit to list what I keep in my Medic bag I made, but of course I...

How do u live on $700/month, truly?

Of course its not a good idea at all for the majority of Van dwellers, that's not there goal. Sky and I were simply discussing what we would like and its quite possible to live off 700 a month and own land. That's why you buy dirt that fits your needs, like no rules and no issue living in your...

How do u live on $700/month, truly?

A van or compact RV would be ideal for me too. I contemplated a trailer but it would hinder the versatility and mobility of my 4Runner, plus I too would rather not tow a trailer everywhere I go. I'm planning on buying some dirt in WV, hopefully ~5 acres. Its always good to have a home base.

Law related needs on the road

Traffic and policing, as in tickets and frequent discrimination by cops, even states. It can get tough out there and a veteran criminal prosecutor can come in handy. You know where things can go and the many games you/they can play to avoid major long term issues. Until our government stands...

How do u live on $700/month, truly?

O how nice it would be to live off a fixed income. My 30 years of working in sales has had me at the highest highs and lows lows (with money). It would be so nice and predictable to have a consistent stream of income so I could budget properly. Even if its not much. So I have been practicing...

    Portable DVD player

Good info, thanks all. Unless I cross something prefect it appears a laptop would be the better option. I need a new laptop anyway and my moony would be better served in a laptop.

what is your first step on a vehicle build

Hmm. First thing would be decide on a vehicle, but I appreciate the focus on power. For power there are different things you can do depending on vehicle, like a diesel vs gas vs.... Gong to need a generator or one heck of a power alternator to charge all that.

Civil Asset Forfeiture and the Police

Just don't give it all away and don't talk to cops when they start to ask OT questions. Stick to the reason they puled you over.

    Portable DVD player

Figured this would be easy, to find one powered via USB or 12V is one thing, but also having an HDMI output is the problem. I have an HDMI input for my 10" head unit and I have a portable projector so I would rather not use a laptop. Though i do need a new one. Amazon is okay, but requires so...

Civil Asset Forfeiture and the Police

Yup, they can seize your cash if they suspect it may be tied to something illegal. I carry very little to any cash due to this. Seems to be more of a problem I have seen out west.
