So I am looking at solar panels on Santan's website and I am seeing several that say "snail trail"...should this be a major concern or just something to be aware of?
Honestly, it is my opinion that she didn't have a good experience because she expected to immediately have the lifestyle she saw in the videos. I believe that is the mistake many who quit the lifestyle after a short time make.
Critical thinking is key here. You have to realize that most of...
Personally I would love to have a dog. However, being in a minivan and being on disability I just don't think I can a) afford it (I would feel very strongly that I should make their food myself rather than buy the off-the-shelf stuff for example) and b) give the dog everything it needs as far...
I agree and that is what I usually do...but since I hit the road it's been more "meh, I'll organize everything once I get the build done" (which, btw, I haven't even started yet because...well...reasons).
Let me clear up any confusion on the portable mounts. It would be something like this:

Which means airflow would not be an issue.
Yeah, my plan on the flexible panels is to either build or buy portable mountings that can be angled as needed. The mountings themselves will be staked to the ground to combat wind (so they don't blow away...which has already happened once).
So I have a epever 3210an charge controller and I am looking at solar panels on Santan's website...and getting slightly confused on voltages.
Which voltage rating should I be looking at to determine whether the charge controller can handle the input from the panels?
Is it just me, or is there always that one thing that no matter how many times you replace it it always ends up coming up missing?
For me it's tape measures. I swear they just really don't like me so they grow legs and run away. Seriously.
I bought one before I hit the road and have bought...
Well, the flexible panels I already have so may as well use them. Yeah it might be a pain after some time but again, what else am I going to do with them?
Actually I eventually plan on adding a 'room' to the side. My plan for that is to use uni struts to build a roof rack so I can add the room later. I may also add the shower setup from the video (a smaller version).
As for the amount of batteries, so far I only plan on having two 100ah...
I will do one better, here's a video of his van. There are a couple of things I will do differently. For example, my electrical setup will live where my passenger seat used to be.
So I am debating whether to do the "house build" or solar first. I might be able to do both next month depending on what I have to spend to get it done..
Considerations:
Electrical system: I already have a 100ah Ampere Time battery, charge controller, 15 foot solar cable extensions, 1000...
Just a heads up, some companies do not accept a direct express card. I found this out when I got insurance on my van (Progressive is one of those companies that doesn't accept Direct Express. However, I did a bit of a workaround with my PayPal account).
Not trying to scare anyone and really...
A diagram would be extremely helpful. I am likely going to replace the entire power port (as I don't think they were designed for this use) and I may as well do it right while I'm at it.
The van is a 2005 Kia Sedona and I don't know whether the A/C failed suddenly or over time (I bought it last December in northern Oklahoma...it was around 10-12 degrees F outside so didn't need the A/C ).
Based on what the garage told me, and if confirmed when I take it in for a 2nd opinion I...
