Here is Why You Must be INSANE to buy an RV These Days, Steve Lehto

Hybrid vehicle climate control is a game changer but the engines are worked harder than predicted by the designers it appears in my opinion. Most small self contained trailers are still too heavy for the CTV transmissions in my opinion as well. An older Tacoma or Four Runner with the V6 or V8 is...

Here is Why You Must be INSANE to buy an RV These Days, Steve Lehto

I agree a small camper trailer with a reliable tow vehicle are about as easy as it gets unless you are of the few that are long term backpackers used to living in a small tent or tarp then a basic van works as a steel tent with few compromises.

    Mini-Van-Camper-Conversion

Full timing is a lot of work no matter how you do it. A well built RV (which there are few of) can be modified to last several years with very little work compared to a full build out. Starting with a blank sheet type builds are difficult and often if not done properly result in worse results...

    Buying Land

Many areas are forbidden for UTVs and ATVs to operate in areas where street legal four wheel drive vehicles are in the Maze and Flint Trail areas of Glen Canyon Recreational Area and Canyonlands National Park, so there are areas but these areas are usually only accessible to off road capable...

    PIRATE CAMP '24-25....................Desert SouthWest

Just so you know a lot of times hitting yard or estate sales you can get nice wood cabinets or damaged furniture that can be modified or disassembled and repurposed cheaper than trying to build with new expensive wood from the lumber yard or big box store. Most big box stores have damaged panels...

2000 w power station and "widdle ol' " cigarette lighter?

Most factory plugs are rated for no more than 10 amps I believe and I’ve always hard wired my own better style plugs or like above kept my house system separate from my vehicle systems. Power is never free and I feel my vehicle is the most expensive supplier. I also use a Delta ll from Eco Flow...

Where to spend winters and summers

I really enjoyed a late night trip back to camp escorted by a couple A10 aircraft at Caballo Loco a few years back.

Where to spend winters and summers

Trump doesn’t have a chance of dealing with the problem as it will take years with his failure to lead and plan such an operation. Executive Orders can only do so much. Congress hasn’t done much in decades and Trump killed the only legislation that tried to be brought up. Most “truly bad...

Okay... call me a complainer (currently)

Welcome! Getting to warmer climates where you can use outdoors for activities or maybe find a group jam session you can attend will make a difference. The RV you have chosen isn’t known for spaciousness or reliability so it might be time to reconsider your choice if you plan to do a lot of miles...

Where to spend winters and summers

Unless you are Border Patrol there isn’t much of an issue as most crossing want to turn themselves in and begin the process of getting asylum as soon as possible in my opinion. The real problem isn’t going to be solved with the inadequate system we have quickly without major funding to increase...

    Gym vs no gym?

I was referring to national chains which have taken over most of the small mom and pop gyms.

Here is Why You Must be INSANE to buy an RV These Days, Steve Lehto

You guys are all making good points. There are good things and bad things about lifestyles and they vary as well with people’s situations. There is no universal right way. I’ve owned a quality motor home, a Jeep truck with a diy topper and everything in between. Nothing has worked in all...

Out of All 1996-2004 Full-Size Vans Models, Which is Easiest To Repair?

I have gone back and forth for many years on this issue. Just because parts are available doesn’t mean they are quality parts that will last, older vehicles tend to get less fuel economy and weigh more limiting the amount you can carry and so on. Vans in general are not easy to work on as access...

Straight Talk Wireless: New Unlimited Phone Plan for $25, $200 for new phone after a year so pay $300 get $200 back! Verizon network.

We used Starlink while living in a remote part of Utah working for the National Park Service. It did consume power and was expensive. Finding clear sky and set up was fairly easy. It did take several days to stop the billing when we paused it even though we were not using the service.
