    Cheap Chinese LifeP04 batteries?

Prowse’s DIY Solar Forum is also a good resource, there as with anything else, don’t suspend your own judgement.

Is anyone still in Quartzsite this time of year?

January is the peak month. There is a cold spell at the moment, November had a record for the number of over 80 degree days.

The Forum is Being Sold to Group Builder

Thanks Bob for starting this Forum. Although I did not join until 2017 and learned most everything solo and frequently the hard way of definitely got my solar chops here. I’ve also seen how many people have been helped here. I do believe I personally have helped a significant fraction of...

    Quartzsite Musicians or Artists camp

Hopefully the organic inheritor of the RTR will continue this year at Scadden Wash mid January. Acoustic Camp is a semi organized effort. There’s also the Gypsy Minstrel Caravan.

Go On the Road or ..

You should have no problem finding work on the road, seasonal resorts might well be best for both parties. I’d also not be surprised if in a housing challenged resort you could make significantly more and have much less overhead. You might even like the place enough to stay!

    Ehrenburg Laundromat

There has been a change of ownership. I don’t know anymore.

    Alligator clips?

You can make your own cables. There is a bit of a learning curve and equipment costs. I have a multiple die crimper, but I’d need another for larger cables. I might try a hammer for those. Whether to pursue that path should depend on your future plans. Amazon and auto parts stores...

Is a KILL SWITCH actually needed?

I don’t have one. You do need a fuse or a circuit breaker. I don’t fully understand the merits and drawbacks of all the different types.

    jackery 500 charging

You’d think Jackery would be more precise in their documentation, if not design, for this common use case. You might try a test run before going to the trouble of running the wiring. A fuse tap might also work if you can find the right circuit. That would be a simple job for a mechanic that...

    power Tools and Invertors

You can a pretty good kit from Ryobi for like $300 from Home Depot. There are other brands. Check the warranty for your use test. I believe they have a 12v charger too.

    RV Solar Awning

There are folks doing slide out panels, like a pickup bed slider, or a big drawer. It looks doable as a project, and some spendy hardware.

    Clam Ice Fishing Tent

The pavilion model comes with walls included that roll up over the screens. You can also purchase the attachable walls separately. There are two manufacturers currently.

Self Heating, Renogy 12v Smart 100ah Lithium Batteries

The thermal mass of a battery is such that a brief dip below freezing won’t be a problem. A temperature controlled BMS like the overkill will protect you in the rare exceptions. Living space, as above, is even better.

Buying a tiny home/trailer/getting help from habitat from humanity as backup

People are looking at, and doing, that.  Hopefully an on-site composting toilet could be part of that minimal package in at least a few SW counties.

    A cabin in the woods

I think a lot of folks are looking at doing this, hopefully we'll have quite a few good 'neighborhoods' to consider over the next few years. Keep your privacy in the community a bit, but not too much - such as with potential good neighbors.
