Best on the road internet these days?

I did look it up just today, https://homefi.info/products/titan-pro-homefi-router 200 & 300 GB plans, $80 & $90. I saw no mention of what network it runs off of.

"America the beautiful" pass. worth it for me?

I have the pass, the senior version and getting into national parks without paying is great. As for camping, have you seen freecampsites.net ? There are free places out there. You mentioned the Grand Canyon, I camped in the national forest free areas just outside the south entrance. I would...

My Simple Van Build - MVB (Minimum Viable Build) Approach

Build? This can be done very simply with no building at all. Get an air mattress to sleep on the floor or get a cot to sleep on & bins that will fit under the cot (I like the 10 gal tubs). Blankets and/or sleeping bag will make an adequate bed, blankets can be found at secondhand stores...

Would a bicycle tube patch adhere to a heater hose?

I've used old hose (garden hose) for chafing protection, the rubber tube patches ought to work for that too.

    Oregon?? Anyone...???

That area (John Day dam) is one of my favorite places to hang out for a little while, lots to see (people and things). Stonehenge is really neat to see too.

Camping on the beach down on Padre Is, boondocking at Magnolia Beach, there is some free camping at Falcon Lake, and as it was said Big Bend NP is worth a look and so is Terlingua.

    on the road in Oct

Bob is right, machines break, bad luck happens and from time to time you may need the emergency money. In my world you're golden! You could do an engine or a transmission with what you have, tires & brakes are normal wear items...  When I look at this adventure my question is if I came back...

How to cook frozen chicken pot pie on stovetop?

I have used a cast iron dutch oven sitting on the Coleman camp stove as the heat source to make things that required an oven. I put a trivet in the pot, what I was cooking on top of that, put the lid on and went for it. You do have to pay attention while you're cooking it.

    Who's using Straight Talk?

I bought an ATT phone (from straightalk) to use where we were, swapping was no big deal. Some months later swapping back to the verizon phone was not a problem.
