Regarding emissions, every new car sold here must be tested and certified... doesn't matter if it is certified to just as high a standard in another country. So they used the Toyota Celica GTS engine which had already been certified in the US.
I think it's 25 years old... so ya, that is pretty old! But you can find them with low miles. A lot of the imported vehicles come from Japan, which has some silly laws making it expensive to own old vehicles... so I guess we can be glad we aren't like them! The double cab 4wd Toyota Dyna fire...
At least with medicines you can walk across the border and bring them back, and I think you can have them mailed as well? Thought I heard that... but I don't use medicines from anywhere...
I give the kids a pass... it's the 70 year olds who camp in 45ft land yachts who are bored shitless... out kicking up dust and making noise in their toys, that piss me off...
I can avoid the kids by camping too far from where they live. Can't avoid the old campers though, unless I drive for a...
It's right on the road between Cortez and Durango and next to a national park... so I can imagine it being popular.
I stayed over for the night near Lake Havasu and tried Craggy Wash which got pretty good reviews... man what a mess of humanity. Crowded, trash, stink, dust... but a beautiful...
It is sad. If you were paying rent or a mortgage and working in Flagstaff, would you want the surrounding forest to be like that? No one has the right to trash a place or make a nuisance of themselves. I'm not even a little surprised that they are cracking down on these camps.
Who is talking...
Our automotive market is very much not "free". If you want a simple utilitarian vehicle like the Toyota Stout, you are just SOL. I don't know exactly how it's accomplished, but such vehicles are simply not allowed to be sold here. Part of it is a big tax on auto imports, and our exclusive...
Click on the link, these are specified campsites with markers and numbers. They are free and first come first served with 14 day limits... but you cannot camp just anywhere in the area. I don't know if you need approval or if they keep a record of who is in the spots. Possibly their main goal is...
Dispersed camping used to mean that an area was open... camp where you like. Typically this was anywhere on NF or BLM that wasn't wilderness or a developed site.
"Designated dispersed" with defined sites is an oxymoron. Maybe it is still free? Maybe you don't have to register for a site? I've...
The $10k (that's new, baby!) Toyota pickup will supposedly be sold down there, but not in the US. And no, you can't import or license foreign vehicles unless they are very old.
Which appears to be... basically getting rid of dispersed camping by requiring designated sites?

The competitive free market is great... for us... but the real profits are in monopolies.
But how can there be a monopoly, with all these different companies? The smaller ones get bought but the names are retained to make it look like diversity. When there are just a few entities that own the...
Like Big George used to say (part of my morning McD coffee bunch when I was 30 and living in my truck, and he was 70, rich and retired) "if it wasn't for women, we'd all be still living in caves"... well, I know I would...
