Having owned a transit connect in the past, I was informed that that some models prior to 2016 where taller than they are today.......but I'm not sure they would have been called a high top. I have a transit high top now and its over 72" inside. Inside height of 64 would be more like a mid top...
I'm mechanically clueless, so unfortunately I must rely on experts. Over the years I have had mechanics replace parts only to discover that replacing the parts wasn't the issue, so they would replace something else. In my mind, replacing used parts should have an overall positive effect on...
I think that is because when most people talk about gray water.......they are talking about larger storage tanks, like their black water tanks. There are many people, myself included, that have small gray water "tanks" (a gallon or less) that simply catch water from our sinks. I think the...
We live in a world of freedom. We should all recycle, but most people don't. You aren't suppose to throw used batteries in the trash, but most people do. You are'nt supposed to drain your grey water, but many people do. Some take precautions and use proper soaps which is great, but some...
I have been watching his videos for a while. Every camper I have seen seems cheap. I bought an Aliner and only owned it for a year. I have water leaks, bugs getting in, and the door began giving me problems because it was going out of alignment. That next sumer was when we all saw the huge...
I installed two windows, one on each side of the van. I have plans to install 2 on the rear doors. I consider my van like my house, anyone who wants to get in can get in. Its always about opportunity and risk. Like they stated above, if someone sees a lap top or wallet on the front...
I'm insured through Progressive as a commercial van used for personal pleasure. NE catagorizes all vans as commercial vehicles because that is there purpose and design. I did modify the van by adding windows and installing a roof vent/fan. I did my own build and spent less than $1500 doing...
My first van had an annolog antenna and like mpruet stated, you have to spin it around in the direction of the singal. It radiats out from the source and many things in between you and the singal can interfere with the recption.
Cold is a relative term. I just spent a few days at Quartzite and I found the temps comfortable. Yes it was cool in the morning, but it was something I could live with. Most days started out with sweat pants and by mid day I was wearing shorts.
I have a small TV that has a DVD player on it. When I have access to shore power, I watch DVD's. I have tried a variety of different antennas in an attempt to get local channels without much success. Most of the time I stream TV on my phone. I have Spectrum for TV service and I use their app.
Anyone ever tries these?

I use a Jackery 240 (there smallest unit) and it works great for me. I recharge mine using either shore power if it's available or a cigarette lighter port. It takes me about 3 hours to recharge when traveling.
As many of do your van builds, I see people making their own cabinets and sinks. I wonder what happens to campers that are not repairable? Do they take them apart and sell the contents like they do with totalled cars? I guess I have never seen a place that sells compents of wrecked campers...
Go to the IRS website and you can find common questions. Some types of charity deductions may not impact your federal but will on your state and vice/versa. I rarely claim this deduction but I know it does reduce your taxable income.....not sure if it's dollar for dollar or a percentage. Do...
Last weekend it was 22 F outside. I checked my van (was at home so it was parked outside) and it was 24F inside. I plugged in my smnall portable heater and two hours later it was 80F inside! It was plugged into a 20 amp breaker and no problems. When I don't have shore power I use the Coleman...
